Bridger Wilderness Outfitters has led expeditions into the Bridger Wilderness Area and the Wind River Range since 1983.

Fully guided Packs Trips, by horseback, really allow us to show off our area to you. We offer pack trips in all duration from an overnight up to 14 days. Our premier pack trip is called "Ride the Winds" and follows the continental divide for 7 days covering 120 miles.

If you would rather try something different than the fully guided pack trip we offer a complete wilderness support service (see Pack Services). If you want to hike, we offer Trekking and Hiking Tours. Our premier Trekking tour is called "A Walk on the Winds" trip and follows the continental divide for either 8 or 10 days. Maybe you prefer our gear delivery service (Gear Drops). If you want to stay by yourself but you want to ride a horse into the wilderness site of your choice and have your gear packed in, check out our Spot Pack service.

We offer guided pack trips throughout the whole Bridger Wilderness area of the Wind River Mountain Range. We also offer fly fishing pack trips into the Gros Ventres Wilderness Area and the southern portion of Gros Ventres Mountain range.

Fishing trips can be designed for large numbers of fish per day, or we can go for fewer but bigger fish. We can design trips for several different species. All of our trips get back into spectacular mountain country.

We do mostly catch and release fishing, however some of our lakes have so many fish that it is good to harvest a few from them. We believe that the "Big" fish are for sport and the smaller ones are for eating. We would be excited to fix you fresh trout over a campfire.

We can offer guided pack trips for everything from a two day to a fourteen day trip. On all of our guided pack trips we will supply all the camp equipment, wilderness staff, and a guide to show you all those secret spots. Our camp food is fantastic. Horses remain in camp with us and we have them to get to distant waters if we want.

Our standard 5 day fully guided pack trip is the most popular. This allows a day to pack in, a day to pack out, and three days of fishing/sightseeing. We offer many different types of trips and can design just about anything you could want.

If you can join a trip which we all ready have on the books that we need to add a fisherman or two, we can also offer a little discount.

At the Historic DC Bar Guest Ranch you will find a pond that is just chuck full of big Rainbows. Clients have caught Rainbows up to 8 lbs out of this pond. The pond is a favorite evening spot for any fisherman staying at the ranch. You can just walk down and wet a line anytime you would like. This pond has been registered with the state of Wyoming as a fishing preserve so a Wyoming fishing license is not required.

From the ranch it is only a few miles drive to get into some of the best fishing spots on the world famous Green River. Within an hours drive from the ranch we have many different additional options for great fishing. We can wade fish, drift fish or we can take canoes onto one of the many lakes in the valley.

The New Fork River is also very famous and with about an hours drive we can get into some of the more productive spots.

If you are interested in accessing a great fishing spot by horseback, we have many options available to us. In the Bridger Wilderness Area alone there are over 1,300 lakes and 800 miles of rivers. More than 1,000 lakes are known to contain fish.

Some of these lakes are only accessible by pack trip, but a few can be reached for day fishing.

On our standard 6 day/6 night Guest Ranch stay, we allow an overnight packtrip at no additional charge. Often times guests choose to head into one of the lakes up behind the ranch that is noted for great cutthroat and brook trout fishing.

Bridger Wilderness Outfitters offers float trips for fishing on both the Green River and the New Fork Rivers. We utilize the low profile Hyde drift boat which is perfect for our local waters.

We also offer hike and wade fishing trips. Our guides will show you into those good holes and help you find the fish.

Our fly fishing school can be designed to take place at our guest ranch, at one of our great local fishing spots, or we can design instruction on one of our guided pack trips.

We also offer rental fly fishing equipment to you so you need not make a major investment until which time you determine if this sport is for you, and you know more of what you should purchase.

The fishing at the ranch does not require a Wyoming State fishing license as we have been registered by the state as a fishing preserve. Fishing in the area can be very exciting, but you will then need the fishing license. For best results from the fish, try a pack trip into the Bridger Wilderness Area.

With the response you get from the fish on a guided pack trip, you can expect to learn this sport rather quickly. We can go into lakes where you will catch close to 100 fish a day. On a trip like this, more than the fish get hooked.
