In addition to salmon and bottom fishing, I offer crabbing when in season, along with cruising, commercial surveys, and memorials or scattering of ashes by special arrangement.

Puget Sound Bottom Fishing

Since the 1987 Bottom Trawler rape of Puget Sound, our primary catch consists of Flounder or Sole, limit 14, plus one occasional Rockfish, during Lingcod and Salmon Seasons.

June through December we usually catch the small Spinney Dogfish Shark, usually ranging in size from 4 pounds to 20 pounds. Total Bottomfish aggregate limit is 15, per person. Lingcod and Cabezon are part of the aggregate.

We typically catch them at 100 ft depths and more, using 2 barbless hooks, and sufficient
weight to keep the bait close to the bottom. While Bottomfish do not migrate, they do
move to nearby locations when food has been used up. They eat almost anything, fish,
anenomes, small crab, and small rocks too.

BOTTOMFISHING RATES $105 per person, year around, 4 place minimum charge, maximum of 6
places. 5th and 6th places are at $55 each, Plus sales tax and licenses. Fish filleting
services are not included in the price.

Tacoma Fishing Charter

I have operated my boat, "The Bristol Pistol" a six passenger 30 ft Owens Cabin Cruiser for the last 28 years from the Foss Harbor Marina in downtown Tacoma. We fish for Salmon and Bottomfish year around in the calm protected water of Puget Sound. When fishing for Salmon we use Downrigger Trolling Gear, or drift (mooch) with Herring or Jigging lures.

Most of the local "Hotspots" are withing a 30 minute boat ride so actual fishing time is maximized for the best fishing areas of South Puget Sound .

All fishing equipment is provided unless you have a favorite rod or lure that you prefer to use. Bring it along if you wish.

Plan to dress according to the current weather conditions, and bring raingear, headgear,and personal items such as cameras, binoculars, sunglasses, sunscreen, lunch, snacks, and cold beverages. Deck area is carpeted so street shoes are adequate footwear. (no leather soles)

Cost $135.00 per person, plus sales tax and License, (two person minimum) 5th and 6th passengers can come along for half price each.

Afternoon/evening trips (four hours)

Flat Rate for up to 4 passengers, $375 Plus sales tax and license. 5th & 6th add $50 each, plus sales tax and license.

Private boat requires minimum of four people. 50% deposit required to hold any dates.

Single Fishers Welcome on a Standby Basis

Fish cleaning/filleting services available upon request.
