Peacock Bass & Payara Fishing

Peacock Bass Fishing

Do not compare this hard fighting fish with any other bass. The Peacock Bass resembles a largemouth bass but, when it comes down to what’s important, no bass fights like the Pavón. Take a fabulous fighting fish add the most productive fishery in Venezuela, a country known for its great Pavón, fishing and you have the makings for the best fishing trip yet! We offer all types of peacock bass fishing adventures: from comfortable, fixed camps to rustic, remote jungle fishing safaris.

Cinaruco River

7 Days / 6 Nights with 3 full and 2 half days fishing. When it comes to fishing, no other fresh water fish has a more explosive top water strike! Pound for pound, Pavón is the toughest fighting; fresh water game fish in the world and the Cinaruco River is the most consistent Peacock Bass fishery in Venezuela.

Fishing Season: The fishing season on the Cinaruco River runs from November through May.

Camatagua Reservoir

3 Days / 2 Nights - You don’t have to travel for hours or days in order to fish for our national sport fish, the Pavón. Less than 3 hours from downtown Caracas is a fantastic artificial lake, home to thousands of medium size Peacock Bass – Pavón. The undulating shoreline and remains of primal forests flooded when Camatagua Dam was built is prime habitat for this exceptional sport fish.

Includes: Transfers to / from Camatagua, lodging 2 nights in Pescador Feliz, all meals and local drinks while in Camp, 2 full days fishing, two anglers per boat, experienced native guides, taxes and entrance fees.

Payara Fishing

Payara November 2001 – April 2002 7 Days – 6 Nights - 4 ¾ to 5 days fishing**

Along with Aymara and other exotics, Venezuela's newest find in game fish. Found in swift water in the larger rivers of the Llanos, Amazonas and Gran Sabana, these fish and destinations are new to the sports fishing world. Most productive fishing is during dry season, mid February through May.

The hard fighting, high jumping Payara offers the angler an exciting fishing experience like no other. Found in fast moving waters in many of Venezuela’s larger rivers, to get this exceptional game fish on your line does not mean you’ll land it! Combine the strength of the prehistoric looking Payara with its two razor sharp canine teeth jutting upwards from its lower jaw, with the force of fast moving water and this will be an experience to remember - and to repeat.

Orinoco River

Along the mighty Orinoco River and its tributaries we have located some VERY productive Payara fishing areas, offering the angler great daily numbers of medium, large, and even record class Payara (up to 19 kilos). Most productive fishing is during dry season, late December through April. Join us for your catch of a lifetime and *possibly* a world record!
