Brown Trout
The Brown Trout is the most common trout in the rivers and lakes in the area. The Autochthonous Brown Trout Mediterranean genotype, present in these waters for thousands of years, inhabits today in many rivers of the Pyrenees.
Rainbow Trout
It was introduced in the Pre-Pyrenees in the 1970's and today there are a few places to fish wild populations in Spain.
Brook Trout
Hidden at the source of some of the Pyrenees rivers, we find the perfect habitat for Brook Trout (Salvelinus Fontinalis); we could find excellent populations and inclusive lake virgin locations with this specie.
Barbel
This specie takes really good runs and each year there are more Barbel fly fishing enthusiast enjoying with their sight fishing along the pre spawn (May-June)

The river Ebro is the backbone of the northern river system of Spain. The rivers which contribute more than 50% of the water to the catchment area belong to the Aragonese Pyrenees, which in turn constitutes the area in the middle of the Pyrenean system and is home to most of the sub-systems, valleys and 3000- metre peaks.
These medium-sized rivers have distinct characteristics.
The source: typical high mountain streams with large rocks and rapids
Mid-section: more comfortable fishing with alternating rocks, rapids, pools and slack water with an average width of 10 to 15 yards
Lower reaches: slower water and up to 90 yards wide. The rivers are suitable for wading between 2 and 6 feet deep and temperatures between 11 and 17 º C.
Hidden in the high mountains around 2000 metres up, we find a large number of glacial lakes accessible on foot or by helicopter.

Santa Cilia de Jaca Lodge
 Set in a rural and tranquil atmosphere, next to the bell tower of the Church of Santa Cilia, the lodge, once an ancient 15th century small palace where was pressed the wine to the monks of the Monastery of San Juan de la Pena, has been converted into an operative fishing lodge.
The lodge itself is situated on the bank of the Aragon River of Santa Cilia, a Pyrenean village of some 190 inhabitants involved in agriculture and dairy farming. It is very close to the confluence of two other main rivers from the nearby Hecho and Ansa valleys. This places the lodge at a strategic location in the centre of our area in the western Pyrenees; there are over 800 miles (1,000 Km) of rivers and 30 high-mountain lakes inhabit by trout, in a 30-mile (50 Km) radius to choose from.
LA RIBAGORZA Lodge Aren Aren is a small village of eastern Pyrenees, set in the border between Aragon and Cataluoa.
Our Main Lodge is a Hotel with double rooms, en-suite bathroom and apartments. Our guides live in the main Lodge; cooks, waiters and the rest of the staff offer very friendly services inside. The meals are first class and the tourists appreciate the selection of local & ecological products used to prepare it. Our Rural Lodge is other option, 5 km away from Church Square of Aren. You won't find buildings or people around the Lodge, only nature and sheep farms. Breakfast and dinner are served in our Main Lodge Dining Room, in Church Square of Aren.
