East Cape Fishing Packages
The East Cape of Baja California has long been one of our favorite spots for Mexico sportfishing. Located 45 miles north of the San Jose del Cabo Airport, the East Cape resorts overlook the Sea of Cortez, the largest fish trap in the Eastern Pacific and one of the most beautiful eco-systems for fish and wildlife. The offshore waters of Palmas Bay are home to Black, Blue and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado and Roosterfish.
We represent many of the East Cape resorts such as Hotel Palmas De Cortez, a 5 star fishing resort, Buenavista Beach Resort often called "The Jewel of the East Cape", Hotel Playa Del Sol, a friendly family owned resort, Hotel Punta Colorado, an isolated, true fishermen's fishing resort and Rancho Leonero, small, remote and beautiful with great snorkeling, diving and beach fishing.
San Jose Del Cabo Fishing Packages
The historic old town of San Jose del Cabo, 10 minutes from the Los Cabos Airport, boasts some great offshore fishing at the world renowned Gordo Banks, long considered one of the most productive and consistent fishing areas in Mexico. The variety and quality of the varied gamefish make this a true fishermen's paradise.
Species such as black, blue and striped marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, dorado, wahoo, roosterfish, sierra, pargo, grouper, yellowtail, amberjack, pompano, along with many other types can be found throughout the year. These are depending on gamefish migrations, bait supply, water temperature, and ocean currents.
Located 84 miles south of Mulege and 217 miles north of La Paz is the historic town of "Conch" meaning "red mangrove" in the indigenous language. Loreto, an ancient Mexican fishing village is the home of California's first mission founded in 1696 that sill stands today in the town square. Not only is it the oldest town in Baja California, but it's surrounding scenery is incomparable; the magnificent Sierra de la Giganta mountian range, the awesome desert and the azure Sea of Cortez.
Facing Loreto are it's volcanic islands, Coronado with turquoise waters and sea lion colonies; Isla Carmen with beautiful beaches and coves; the Danzantes with rocky edges and small coves, a paradise for scuba diving; and Catalina, a favorite of the ecologist for its unique flora and fauna.
The surrounding islands offer superb sportfishing with an abundance of fish like yellowtail, sailfish, dorado, marlin, wahoo and roosterfish. Sportfishing has made Loreto famous and is one of it's main tourist activities. Here you will often see huge schools of frolicking dolphin and if you are lucky you will see a blue whale, the largest animal on the planet. A wide area of the Sea of Cortez that includes Loreto was declared a National Marine Park by the Mexican government, thus preserving the pristine waters there.
La Paz is a light tackle wonderland with outstanding fishing. True to the legend, these waters are among the top five best fishing areas in the Western Hemisphere. A day's catch might be described as multiple big bull Dorado; a couple of medium sized roosterfish, a yellowfin and a cabrilla or two...A great day's catch includes sailfish, blue and black marlin, wahoo and a variety of light tackle species. More than the catch though, our clients often speak of the thrill of running along side a playful school of porpoise.
