Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru Marlin Fishing Charters

Deep Sea Fishing, Inshore Fishing and Fly Fishing in South America

ecuagringo 1Ecuagringo first started operating in the Galapagos Islands as a marlin fishery in 2001. Most boats and crews in the area have either worked for us or started part of their training through our company. More striped, blue and black marlin have been caught by our boats in the last 16 years than most operations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. With over 3000 marlin releases in the Galapagos, you have many good reasons to come fish with us. Of course our other fishing and travel destinations are also very productive.

Ecuagringo is a family owned and low key company that strives to satisfy our clients by providing the best staff and services available. All the trips and packages are custom made for all our destinations in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, Argentina and Peru. Our guides, outfitters and staff have been hand picked in each destination to make sure they have top standards of quality service. Feel confident to book with us as we stand by our name.

Galapagos Islands & Ecuador Big Game Fishing

ecuagringo 2Ecuador is South America's most diverse country for its size. The Amazon, Andes, Coastal Lowlands and the Galapagos Islands are all regions so different that no other country this small concentrates 4 geographically distinct areas.

800 km of coastline gives Ecuador access to fantastic marlin fishing all year. Salinas, Manta, Esmeraldas on the mainland and San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos give anglers 4 destinations to fish for marlin in one country.

Many days anglers can experience raises and bites of primarily striped marlin. Blue and black marlin are also found in local waters. The Galapagos Islands are hosts to some of the most important water currents in the Eastern Pacific, with 3 major currents all meeting in the Archipelago. As a result, the sea is rich with nutrients and very fertile with fish. Some of the best striped marlin fishing known to man is found in the waters surrounding the islands.

Your next Deep Sea Marlin Fishing Trip should start out of Salinas, Manta, Esmeraldas and San Cristobal (Galapagos Islands). Contact us for rates and how to start catching marlin in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.

Peru Marlin Fishing

ecuagringo 3Ecuagringo is currently working on offering fishing charters to Peru, one of the most legendary marlin fishing countries on Earth. Alfred Glassel's 1560 lb black marlin put Peru on the big game fishing map in the 1950's. We do not pretend to offer grander black marlin but we do know there is a very viable striped and blue marlin fishery on Mancora Bank offshore. There are several oil rig platforms off of Cabo Blanco as well as lots of marine life that make the waters prime habitat for large pelagic predators such as striped, black and blue marlin as well as tuna, mahi mahi and wahoo.

The warmest season to fish the Nothern Peru areas of Cabo Blanco and Mancora is November to March. However, large black marlin were caught May to September, oddly when the water is coldest.

We are looking to launch this destination by late 2017 or early 2018. We will soon be taking advanced bookings for fishing Peru. If you wish to be one of the first to fish these legendary waters please contact us now.

Inshore Fishing in San Cristobal Island, Galapagos Islands

ecuagringo 4Want to catch wahoo and tuna? Cast plugs, use spinning rods or even try fly fishing for big eye tuna and bonito? You can try your hand at this type of fishing from San Cristobal Island, Galapagos. Have fun while trying you hand at light tackle fishing.

Tuna and Wahoo are found year-round. Most calm months are from December to April.

Bottom Fishing in San Cristobal Island/Galapagos Islands and Manta, Ecuador

ecuagringo 5With the Galapagos Islands chain being highly volcanic and rocky, the bottom fishing can be off the charts. So many spots have seen very little or no hooks. Most runs from port are under an hour and offers very good bottom fishing. Choose to jig or baitfish in 100 to 300 feet of water so your arms don't get as tired. Most Grouper are 5 to 25 lbs and 30 lbs plus are not uncommon. Want to fish for bigger grouper then we can make? Arrangements can be made for you to try 400 to 1000 ft spots with electric reels and target fish 10 to 80 lbs!

San Cristobal Island’s bottom fishing is a year round fishery but we recommend December to April for calmest seas.

The port city of Manta is not only host to terrific blue and striped marlin fishing, it is also host to great bottom fishing and jigging. Try your luck at broom-tail grouper and other bottom fish. The fishing in Manta is also year-round.

Argentina Fishing - Dorado/Golden Salmon

ecuagringo 6Dorado Cua Lodge is found in the heart of the Isoro Wetlands in the province of Corrientes. Owned and operated by Mario Battiston, Dorado Cua Dorado fishing is an experience sure to please all the senses. The 160,000 hectares of natural reserve is host to birds, fish and wildlife unlike any other in the region. While you fish scan the marshes for nutria and capibara, take pictures of the river banks where emu run with their young and just enjoy the breathtaking sunsets.

Dorado are the golden salmon of South America and the only true endemic salmonoid to the region. Besides Dorado, you can target piranha, surubi catfish and more.
