full day(6hrs.) or half day(4hrs.) excursions catching bass, ledgemonsters (bluefishover 10 lbs.& 32"), fluke ,tautog and shark. They will fillet and package your catch free of charge.Snacks, soft drinks and even suntan lotion are provided for your convenience. If You wish, a catered lunch from Newport's oldest deli, The Sandwich Board., can be provided for a modest fee. Capt. Tim, who taught high school and college courses, was an Adjunct Professor of History at R.I.C. He loves to share Newport's rich local maritime history and pirate lore while in route to the fishing grounds.The history of Narragansett Bay has always been a hobby with the Captain and he will be more than willing to share imformation about landmarks and lighthouses . .Mate Chris,Jed and Capt. Tim are all native Newporters and will provide you with imformation about Newport's diverse attractions,restaurants and pubs.

serious boat for serious fishing! The Flaherty Charter crew uses only the most reliable tackle to suit the fish size, sea conditions and the preferences of our clients. We will always try to utilize light tackle for big bass and blues. We therefore employ a variety of rods including the St. Croix line of graphite rods and usually Penn 704Z or lighter spinning gear with 10 to 15 pound test line.Straight from our happy clients.... - his first trip to Carolinas where he went boogieboarding for first time - conquering his earlier fear of the water. He LOVS boogieboarding now....
He gave you the ultimate compliment, saying you were probably as nice as his uncle Pete (the brother-in-law married to my sister Chick, who you have also chartered) - his favorite family member and one of his best friends.

Captain Tim, I just wanted to say thanks again for the great time we had today (Tuesday, July 7th) on your fishing boat. My daughter, her boyfriend and myself really enjoyed you and your first mate Fred's efforts to insure that we had a good fishing day. With seven bass, a flounder and twenty or more scups we caught plenty of fish. I also enjoyed your enthusiasm, knowledge and stories of the area. We all felt like you guys actually wanted to be there with us and that we were not just "customers". I would definitely recommend your charter boat to anyone looking to have a good time and catch fish. Hopefully we can get back later this year.
