Gaspe Salmon Fishing 
Where: Fishing Matapedia River Quebec Fishing Restigouche River and Patapedia River New Brunswick The Matapedia River splits the Lower Saint-Laurence and the Gaspe regions, and is considered one of the best Salmon rivers in Quebec. It flows from Matapedia Lake down along the valley about 65 km, giving life to salmon and other fish in its many picturesque rapids and pools. Its descent ends at the Restigouche River, in the quaint village of Matapedia. The Matapedia River is renowned for the size and quantity of salmon that it shelters. Every year, between 3,000 and 5,000 specimens return to the river to spawn. Matapedia Salmon Fishing is early; the fish usually arrive at the end of May or the beginning of June to start the season.
Gaspe Fishing Guides At Mat Pat Guiding Services we have a reputation for excellence. We aim to please and our Gaspe fishing guides have years of experience doing just that. For the novice fisherman we offer all of the equipment from rods and reels, to waders and flies (for a small rental fee), while you are deciding that this is your sport.
 The veteran and experienced fisherman will appreciate that our guides always put you right over the fish and have a knack for knowing which fly will hook the big one.
We fish mainly from the canoe, but wading is certainly an option if that is what you prefer. Spring Gaspe fishing brings in exceptional runs of black salmon--expect to limit out every day from Mid-April to May. The bright salmon start to come in around the end of May-beginning of June. The days are longer and you can fit in more fishing time. The fall fishing runs from mid-August until the end of September. The weather is perfect on the river and you can still catch Salmon as well as some beautiful Trout. The Salmon season is finished at the end of September, but we can still fish for trout until mid October and we have fall hunting packages as well as being open all winter for snowmobilers and tourists.
Gaspe Fishing Lodge  We have three cozy, country bedrooms, each with a private bathroom available for your stay. At our Gaspe fishing lodge, you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay.
New expanded lodging for 2009 We have just purchased a new camp to service larger group sizes (8 to 10) people or that we can accomodate more than one group at a time. The new camp is right beside the original Mat Pat Lodge. Join us for three home cooked meals daily; all special dietary needs can be accommodated. There are beautiful walking trails directly behind the lodge. Family trips are always welcome. Daycare is available and Campbellton, New Brunswick is only a short drive away to visit souvenir shops, malls, the art gallery and other attractions. Matapedia itself has some nice beaches and scenic lookouts. Plus in August, don't miss the annual Fiddlehead Festival.
Matapedia and Restigouche River Fishing Packages
These packages are available for fishing Matapedia and Restigouche rivers and include three meals, lodging and fishing guide, as well as the fully equipped 26-foot canoe. Not included are the fishing license, daily water access fees, tax, tips and liquor. Package prices are also available without food.
Matapedia River Fishing : $600.00 per day for 2 people (Canadian).
Summer: June 1 to September 30
Spring: April 15 to May 31 - New Rates available for late spring and fall.

Ronald Irving is one of the few guides in Matapedia who has the first hand experience to guide on the rugged Patapedia river. It takes a strong hand on the pole to manoeuver through the long, narrow river. If you are looking for a true fly fishing experience in the great outdoors, you have found it. Let us take you down the river while you enjoy the great outdoors as it was intended to be enjoyed. No television and no telephones. You will enjoy staying at the rustic country camps and dining on lobster and T-bones while looking out at the river.
Patapedia River Fishing: $2310.00 for 3 days for 2 people (Canadian).
Summer: June 1 to August 31
