Quebec Fly In Fishing Trips

The Sauterelle

A little gem of a territory, the Sauterelle covers over 60 square kilometers. Lake Sauterelle, 7 km long, is the largest in the area and the one after which it is named. Very hilly, the region is a veritable paradise for speckled trout in Quebec. Quebec Fishing It also boasts rich fauna, and is a favoured haunt of the king of our forests, the moose. It is reached by seaplane in about 30 minutes from the Sainte-Anne-du-Lac base. Only 4 chalets can be rented thoughout the territory in order to preserve all the potential fauna it contains. A camp manager is present on a permanent basis and a constant radio link is maintained between the site and the air base to respond to any emergency. One of our planes is always ready to take off if necessary.

Angling Value

This territory is characterized above all by the speckled trout. They are everywhere- the queen of the territory to be found in the smallest stretches of water or streams. Some lake boast trout of average size, easy to catch and easy to throw back in the water - while others hold the challenge of fish weighing more than 1 kg (2 lbs).

Considering the small number of chalets available in the territory, fishing pressure is minimal, and anglers wishing to wander at leisure along the trails leading to headwater lakes will be astonished by the choice.

Quebec Moose Hunting Fishing ComboQuebec Fly-in Outfitters

In common with the Moselle territory, the moose-hunting season lasts for 4 weeks at mid-September to mid-October. The packages offered consist of 4 periods of 7 consecutive day hunts. Hunters can enjoy a vast, exclusive area, lodging in a chalet, and exploring trails extending to the farthest reaches of the territory.

In all, only four immense territories are available, where you can hunt as much as you wish and take all the time needed to catch the much-coveted game. Every year, impressive males are taken. Transporation of venison and antlers is included in the round trip.

Moselle

The majestic landscape of the Moselle area extends over more than 309 square kilometers between the Gatineau River and the Coucou River. Its many large lakes contain speckled trout, pike, and walleye. The territory as a whole has 20 chalets to rent on a European Plan basis, as well as many trails for hiking, some of which lead to smaller headwater lakes. It is reached by seaplane in about 30 minutes from the Sainte-Anne-du-Lac base.

Angling Value

The high quality of fishing in the Moselle territory is due to the protection we enforce to avoid overharvesting the wildlife. In fact, we strongly recommend catch and release for pike and walleye.

This enables our anglers to square off regurlary with the most amazing fish. About half the lakes contain Speckled Trout in great numbers while the other half are furbished with Walleye and Pike. Some even contain huge lake trout, for visitors looking for a real challenge.

Baie du NordQuebec Fishing Guide

Created at the end of the '20s, this enormous reservoir with an area of over 9,200 square km, has become, over the years, the largest basin of yellow walleye in Quebec. Not only is there an abundance of fish, but their quality is also outstanding.

Our two strategic locations and the eight chalets available for rent provide access to the best parts of the area, i.e. those which are the most difficult to reach, except by seaplane. These areas therefore have the lowest fishing pressure. All the chalets in this territory have running water and shower facilities. A camp manager is present on a permanent basis at each of the locations to respond to your needs and ensure your total enjoyment of the fishing trip; a radio link between each site and the air base guarantees your safety at all times.

Angling Value

Baie du Nord is indisputably one of the best locations for fishing yellow and blue walleye on the continent. As well as being extremely abundant, the walleye can easily grow to a weight of 3 kg (7 lbs). However, the average weight of catches varies between 1 and 2 kg (2 and 4 lbs), and even the novice fisherman can expect to reach his/her fish limit.

The many structures of the bottom in the flooded coves also shelter huge pike, some weighing over 15 kg (30 lbs) and 50" in length. In fact, fish of this size are caught frequently. However, the average weight of these pike varies from 3 to 5 kg (6 to 10 lbs). Fishing is excellent here, from the start of the season to the freeze-up !
