Today was one of those days we as anglers do not like. There just weren't a whole lot of fish around. We busted our tails but it was one here, two there type of fishing. Not a normal day of Hawaiian Bonefishing. Now we did get some shots at some big boys, 4 to be exact but couldn't cash in. We were working a nice flat and all of sudden, we saw that diamond flash of a "tailer". We slowed way down and got into stalkiing mode. Sure enough here he comes, happy as can be, flipping the dorsal and tail around, pretty as a button. A precision cast, one strip and this 6 pounder closed 5 or 6 feet in a blur and exploded on the fly. AWESOME! He ran hard off of the reef, we freespooled him to keep him from breaking our leader and then began to apply pressure as we got to the edge. A minutes later, this handsome 6 pounder was landed, photographed and released. We didn't quit today and never will. It's all about your experience being a memorable one. Tight lines Coach Duff
