Week of Oct. 17-24

Weather Conditions: An unusual low caused unfavorable fishing conditions during the first part of the week. On Wed., the weather changed to sunny skies with occasional passing clouds.
Wind: Winds out of the NE during the first part of the week with gusts up to 20mph. Winds changed to E by Wed. at 5-10 MPH.
Air Temp: Lower than normal temperatures during the low with temperatures improving to mid 80s by Wed.
Water Temp: 80-81 with good visibility.
Tides: Low tides in the morning followed by high tide early afternoon with an additional low during the evening.
Moon Phase: New Moon on October 17.

Sun. through Tues. brought rain, wind and waves that diminished fishing conditions due to Hurricane Bill off the West Coast of Mexico. Due to Turneffe Flats’ location, we were able to fish even when conditions were less than favorable. Wed. fishing conditions improved and lasted the rest of the week.

John R.from Pennsylvania was eager to fish hard to tailing bones on the flats. His patience and persistence paid off when John landed a beautiful eight-pound bonefish. He also had several shots at permit during the latter part of the week; however the fish were not willing to take a fly.

Father and son duo Rick and Greg O. from Seattle caught numerous bonefish daily during favorable fishing conditions. The angling team enjoyed father/son time together both on and off the flats.

Jim M. from Seattle and his fishing partner Ed E. from Alabama quenched their thirst for bonefish and decided to go permit fishing. Though they saw plenty of permit and had numerous shots, they could not find any willing takers.

Frank S. and Mike G. found the flats very productive and landed multiple bonefish during the morning and afternoon outings. Frank greatly improved his casting ability with lessons from his guide. His improved skills paid off and he and Mike caught several large bonefish during the week.

2-for-1 Special: Our 2-for-1 Fishing Special will continue through the week of Dec. 12-19. The 2-for-1 Fishing Special is where two anglers traveling together sharing a room, boat and guide can visit for the same price as one Single Supplement Angler, $5,146.17. The rate per-person on this special comes to $2,573.09, all taxes included.

As a holiday gift to our clients; for the week of December 19-26 we are offering our $500 fuel rebate on any weeklong fishing or combination (fishing and diving) package. We are also continuing the $300 fuel rebate off of the weeklong Diving Package and the $200 fuel rebate off of the Atoll Adventure Package.

For information on these Specials, reservations, your free 30-minute Turneffe Flats DVD or answers to any fishing questions, phone toll-free 888 512 8812.
