|
The fishing season in Argentina starts November 1 and is just a month away. 2008-2009 saw some of the best fishing we have ever experienced at Rio Manso. Good food supplies added 1-2 inches to the average size fish from both rivers and lakes in our area. We caught browns up to 30", rainbows to 28" and brook trout (yes, brook trout!) up to 24". These fish will all feed heavily during the first three months of the season as they put on weight after the winter. Look for our epic dragonfly hatch to kick off in late November and have every big fish in the system eating dries. Caddis and mayfly hatches are heavy at this time of year in the channels near the lodge making for some great match-the-hatch evening fishing. Plan on stripping streamers during the day. Sinking lines will get your flies into the strike zone
