Hello Folks,
Due to business travels in June and July I have been lagging behind on my reports. I hope to make it up to everyone in the following reports.
Now let’s talk fishing. The month of July brought windier see conditions plenty of wahoo and tuna. The marlin bite has slowed down considerably. Local anglers and charters have been focusing mainly on tuna and wahoo. The yearly Santa Cruz tournament reported some nice wahoo in excess of 60 lbs.
The Blue went fishing with our local crew with angler Jason Elliot and his son on July 19 and 20th. The tuna action on Rosa Blanca was exceptional and the captain reported seeing a couple of striped marlin that would not feed. Sea conditions were choppy with 4 to 6 ft waves and it was quite windy.
The Sea hands reported raising 4 stripes on July 24 and 3 raises on July 25 with 1 release. The few fish around are said to average 180 to 200lbs. As the water gets colder the larger females seem to move in to feed or spawn.
