I visited the Taupo region the first week of June in 2009 for a little early winter fishing. I spent two days with Ken and had a great time learning nymphing techniques - 10 rainbows and probably not one under 3 lbs. The first day was on a private section of the Whanganui River. Only two landed but both were good fish, one well over 4 lbs. The second day was on the Waimarino River. Ken put me on pool after pool and we landed several from each.

On both days the fish were in great shape and strong fighters.
