Sailfish have dominated this years billfish catches as usual but we have had far fewer white marlin than normal for some reason. Michael Ronayne did 2 days with us and tagged 5 sails plus caught 3 dorqado just to keep him active!. Blues are at the same level as last year - mostly small although we did lose one 450-500 class fish when it swam under a long line close to the end of the fight...damn! Joe and Karyne Carey off the Celebrity Galaxy cruise ship enjoyed a dream half day where they both caught blue marlin, one of which was caught whilst watching 2 sperm whales. Best Yellowfin action has been around sei whales - we got one of 135lb although it took over an hours fishing just to get one of the tunas to give us a strike. Commercial boats are bringing in tunas again now so here's hoping we get our shre during April.
More recently there has been a run of wahoo down the edge of Reindeer shoal - best wahoo so far was Alex Holfields 55lb fish on 1st March.
Dorado has been better than last year with several 30lb classs fish caught but still no where near 2007 levels - each year seems to vary a lot with them.
Will update again soon - good fishing - Gary
