The Voyageurs Voice

Volume 11

Greetings!

Welcome to Rainy Lake Houseboats E-Newsletter Volume 11. In this edition, we have
some information to share about the upcoming fishing season, our Rainy Lake Houseboat
deposit policy and a Casa Loma Update. Read on, enjoy, and see you next month.

2009 Rainy Lake Fishing Expectations
2009 should be another memorable fishing season on Rainy Lake. Walleyes will be
plentiful; the stock of brood fish continues to grow each year. It is hard to believe
but some of the walleyes are twenty years or older. I wonder what the age would
be if they had a formula for age similar to dogs.

Rainy Lake Houseboat Deposit Policy
Many guests have questions about deposits and what happens if they have to cancel.
Our deposit policies are the friendliest in the business. The Honeymooner, Minnitaki,
Voyageur, Tamarac, Saginaw, Kempton Cruiser, and Gold Rush Jacuzzi houseboats all
have refundable deposits if cancellation is received sixty days prior to your boarding
date. The Lady of the Lake houseboats has a 120 day cancellation policy. Twenty
eight of our twenty nine houseboats have refundable deposits. Two of our competitors
do not refund any deposits and the other has a ninety day cancellation policy
(notification must be in writing) with a $175 fee charged on all cancellations. In the past we have not always adhered to our deposit policy in the strictest sense. We have refundedbecause of health issues, death in family and many other legitimate reasons; at
the very least we allow a deposit to be applied to a reservation the following year.

Casa Loma Update
We have owned Casa Loma for 3½ years and it has evolved into a popular option for
people to enjoy Rainy Lake. For the 2009 season we are booked from May 10- to July
4, July 11-28, Aug 1-8, Aug 15 - October 10 and December 19 - January 3.
If you are looking for a date there is six days available July 5-11 and one week
August 8-15. All guests will be able to reserve their 2010 dates at the end of their stay
