    Accommodations

    The Gamboa Rainforest Resort, which opened in 2000, boasts 200 spacious, finely appointed guestrooms that are equipped with all of the necessities to accommodate today's modern traveler. Included in every room (except Historic Villas) is a remote control satellite TV, AM/FM radio, direct dial telephone with voicemail, data ports, wireless Internet access, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, electronic safe deposit box and ceiling fans. Additionally, every room overlooks the beautiful Charges River with a balcony and hammock for guests to enjoy.

    Adjacent to the main lodge, 32 newly renovated apartment-style villas, which were originally constructed in the 1930s to house the Panama Canal administration officers, make up the resort's historical village. The four-bedroom villas, with separate living room and kitchenette, provide charming accommodations that are great for families or fishing groups.

    With 340 acres, the Gamboa Rainforest Resort provides guests with a variety of outdoor and indoor activities. However, the resort is best known for its Aerial Tram canopy tour, as well as its on-property educational exhibits and nature tours, which include a serpentarium, butterfly house, orchid and botanical gardens, freshwater and reptile exhibit and Embera Indian village. Guests can also enjoy golf, wildlife safaris, kayaking on the Chagres River or relaxing spa treatments at Gamboa Spa.
