Kenora Ontario Fishing Lodge - Top Canadian FisheryWalleye, Northern and Bass
Why Separation is a Top Ranked Canadian fishery
Separation, once a fly-in only camp, was closed in 1969 after the death of the prior owner, until my wife Cheryln and I purchased the camp in early 1985, The fishing pressure was virtually nonexistent from 1970 until 1986, a period of sixteen years for the fish to increase their size and numbers. Even today with only two main camps located on this 70 mile stretch of the English River System, Separation Lake Camps the only drive-to or fly-in, the other is a fly-in. This should automatically tell you why (STILL NO FISHING PRESSURE) unlike most over crowded and over fished lakes, even those popular remote small fly-in lakes, we have too many fish, we encourage our guests to eat all they want and take their limits home for the family to enjoy. This helps preserve the excellent fishing for trophy Walleye, Northern & Bass. Our policy has always been (Eat the smaller fish and release the trophy ones to increase their size to maximum potential for others to catch and enjoy.....
