The remote setting is the ideal place for that special fishing or hunting experience, or a relaxing family vacation.
Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you travel 40 miles of open waterways which abound with Northern Pike, Walleye, Whitefish, Perch and Smallmouth Bass. With the closest neighbour 4 1/2 miles one way, and 9 miles the other way.
Plentiful nature trails offer the opportunity to explore the diverse landscape and snap the perfect photograph of grouse, snowshoe rabbit, lynx, black bear, ducks, geese or moose.
A daily fly-in fishing trip or a short sight-seeing tour by air may be arranged with prior notice.
After a successful day of fishing, our screened-in cleaning hut (equipped with table & running water) is available for you convenience.
Lake Mattagami Fishing
Lake Mattagami Walleye Fishing
Green Wilderness Lodge is lucky to be on beautiful Lake Mattagami, which is just stuffed
with hard fighting and delicious Walleyes. We are one of those lucky lodges that can make
the claim of catching Walleye right off the dock.
Lake Mattagami has perfect structure for a high Walleye population with many rocky
points, drop-offs, islands and shoals. The river that runs into the lake provides the
Walleyes with perfect spawning conditions thus; the Walleye population stays high.
The Walleye in our lake average about 15 inches but large trophy Walleye up to the
15-pound mark have been caught and released. If you love to catch and eat Walleye, then
Green Wilderness Lodge is where you want to spend your vacation.
Lake Mattagami Northern Pike Fishing
Lake Mattagami is a healthy lake with all the right conditions to grow big trophy
Northern Pike. The pike in our lake average around 4 pounds but bigger trophies up to 25
pounds have been caught and released.
Lake Mattagami Jumbo Perch Fishing
In Lake Mattagami, you will catch more Walleye then Perch but there are lots of Perch
mixed in. Sometimes guests come across a large school of Perch and can fill a pail. There
is no limit for Perch so it's a great way to bring a mess of fish home.
The Perch in our lake are called Jumbo Perch because of their unusual size. In most
lakes, Perch average about 9 inches while in Lake Mattagami; the Perch average an
impressive 10 to 14 inches. They are like small Walleyes.
Lake Mattagami Smallmouth Bass Fishing
Most of our guests come to Lake Mattagami for the great Walleye and Pike fishing. There
are Smallmouth Bass in the south-end of the lake but they are by no means a dominant
species. You can take a break from Walleye and Pike fishing and hunt down some bass but
only expect to catch 3 or 4 in an afternoon.

Boats & Motors
Well maintained new 14' boats & 15 h.p. motors are available for rent on a weekly basis.Live bait, gas, oil, ice, fishing & hunting licenses may be obtained at the Lodge.Docking facilities is available for your own boat or air plane. All our deluxe boats have swivel seats, subfloor, fishfinder, livewell & electric start.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Meals are served in the main lodge. There is also a lounge in the main lodge where you can play cards, pool or just relax and meet some of the other guests.
Wilderness Cottages
We have nice clean cottages, which are fairly new or have had many new upgrades and renovations over the last couple of years. All cottages overlook the lake. Cottages include 3-piece bath, running water, hot water, bedding, pillows, cooking and eating utensils, electricity, refrigerator, counter top stove, lights, and BBQ. (Please bring your own towels).

Lake Mattagami Fishing Outpost
For
guests who want a truly isolated wilderness trip and privacy, we built
an outpost cabin 3/4 miles down the lake in 2002. The cabin sleeps 12
people and is equipped with most of the amenities of our base-camp
cottages. (minimum 4 people)
Outpost
includes running water, shower and sink in the bathroom and an
outhouse, cooking and eating utensils, refrigerator, counter top stove,
12V solar powered lights and a BBQ. (Please bring your own towels,
sleeping bag and pillow).
Guests who stay at the outpost have the same boats and also have the
same boat upgrade option as base-camp guests have. The outpost cabin
has a screened-in porch and looks out over the lake.
Outpost Camp - Boat in (approx. 3/4 mile from main camp) running water, shower, outhouse, sleeps 12, bring your own sleeping bags
Nursey Lake Outpost sleeps up to 10 people.
Former Fly-in Outpost Camp
Nursey Lake is a 45 minute truck ride deep into the bush, then a 5 minute boat ride to the outpost cottage.
Nursey Lake is 5 miles long and 1 mile in width. Fishing is excellent for Walleye, Northern Pike and Jumbo Perch.
The cottage has two bedrooms and is fully equipped including a BBQ. The electric refrigerator and lights are run by a Honda (whisper quite) generator, with propane lights if you just would like it extra quite. Also equipped with a screened in porch to escape the bugs when they get bad.
Boat are the Temagami Style Steel Boats with 6hp Johnsons. These boats are very stable in the water.
