Adventurers visiting our Great Slave Fishing Lodge will enjoy some of the finest fishing, scenery and service in the Northwest Territories. We believe that success in this business is dependant on two major factors - Fishing and Service. The fishing takes care of itself at Taltheilei Narrows. As long as you put your lure in the water, you'll catch fish. What we work hardest to do, is to hire and keep the best possible staff so they can provide you with top quality customer service. Whether it's the camp manager, a guide, pilot or one of the waitresses, you can be assured that they will do whatever it takes to make your trip a success.

What started as a one cabin operation in 1939 has turned into a world class lodge. Visitors will enjoy fine dining in the main lodge and comfortable accommodations featuring a full bathroom in each cabin and daily maid service. After your evening dinner you can choose to head out for more fishing, enjoy a sauna, or relax with a cocktail in the lodge watching the action from one of our high backed leather chairs!

Our fishing lodge is situated to provide you with the fishing adventure of a lifetime.Trophy Lake Trout, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike and even Walleye can be caught from our Great Slave Lake Fishing Lodge. Each year, anglers catch Lake Trout up to 60 pounds with many, many in the 20 and 30 pound range. In addition, cast a spinner or a fly for Trophy Grayling and Pike. And if you're really adventurous, do a fly out to one of our Walleye hot spots.

Less than 400 anglers per year have the opportunity to fish the 4th largest lake in North America!!! Great Bear Lake is famous for its record breaking Lake Trout and Arctic Grayling. It just doesn't get any better - Great Bear Lake holds the All Tackle World Records for both Trout and Grayling as well as dozens of line class records.

The Great Bear Lake Fishing Lodge Experience includes no roads or civilization for hundreds of miles. The wolves run free, the eagles soar overhead and the fish are the size you've only dreamed of. Resting inside the Arctic Circle, Great Bear borders on the edge of the tree line. During your days of Arctic Adventuring you can stumble upon Caribou, Moose, Grizzly Bears, Muskox and even century old Tee Pees. The beauty of Great Bear cannot be described. TREE RIVER...world record Char!
Over a hundred miles inside the Arctic Circle is the Tree River. Surrounded by magnificent buttes, the Tree River rushes to the Arctic Ocean only a few miles down river from our camp. The Tree River is known as the best Arctic Char River in the world, holding the current 32 pound world record. At the Tree you can spend your time chasing the magnificent brightly coloured Arctic Char or you can have your Inuit guide take you to Cornation Gulf where you can sit on a cliff and just gaze out over the Ocean...What a feeling!!

An "oasis in the arctic" is how many people describe the Tree River Valley. Spring, summer and fall is condensed into July and August, with beautiful Arctic flora and fauna everywhere. Tree River is twisting white water, thundering waterfalls, flower carpeted islands and calm placid stretches with clear pools teaming with char.

TROPHY LODGE...record Trout and Grayling!
Situated in Ford Bay on the Smith Arm, Trophy Lodge accommodates anglers for full or half week trips.The site is located on a superb beach in magnificent Ford Bay, nestled among trees and flowers, and surrounded by spectacular scenery.

The water is very cold and relatively shallow, which makes fishing vastly different from the lower latitudes. Trophy Lodge offers some of the finest Trout, Grayling and Pike fishing on Great Bear Lake. Trophy's resident 6 person "Beaver" float plane flies guests up to the Coppermine River for a day of fantastic Arctic Char fishing or to remote spots on Great Bear in search of that World Record Lake Trout (Trophy currently holds the IGFA, All tackle World Record of 66 pounds 8 ounces.) The 3rd annual Dental Seminar will again be held at Trophy Lodge in the summer of 1996.

NEILAND BAY...spectacular and secluded!
This mini-lodge hosts 16 guests per week and is a perfect spot for your private group to fish the remote waters of Great Bear. Fantastic Trout, Grayling and Pike fishing was found at Neiland Bay this year. Long time guest Lloyd Bull caught and released a 72 1/4 pound unofficial world record Lake Trout here this summer. Neiland Bay is the perfect spot for a dozen or so friends to spend a secluded week of fabulous fishing.

Daily Fly outs

Fly outs from Plummer's Great Bear Lake Lodge, Great Slave Lake Lodge and Trophy Lodge to locations inaccessible by boat are available starting at $150 U.S. per person. Daily and overnight flyouts available to the Coppermine River. Ask for prices.
