Canada Fly in Fishing Lodge Northwest Territory

The Best Little Lodge North of Sixty...

This multi-activity fly-in fishing lodge is located only 15 minutes by floatplane northeast of Yellowknife between Duncan and Graham Lakes in the Northwest Territories of Canada. In the summer, the focus is fishing and the fishing here is simply spectacular.

There is not a lot of fishing pressure and there are no other lodges on these lakes.

Fly in fishing lodge northwest territory canada Catch and release is encouraged, but a meal of small fish at a shore lunch is always popular. Northern pike and lake trout make up the majority of the quarry, but there are also opportunities for arctic grayling and whitefish. The northern pike grow large here and 40"-50" fish have been caught and released. In the early season you will find the largest pike cruising the shallow bays. This is prime time to target them and they readily take floating or shallow running lures and flies. There is nothing quite like sight fishing for large northern pike in clear shallow water. There are many shallow bays on both lakes as well as inlet streams that offer perfect habitat for large pike. The lake trout fishing is also great along the steep drops and boulder strewn bottoms throughout the season. The biggest lakers will be deeper in mid summer, but adding weight to deep running lures, spoons or crank baits while trolling will pay off. Also drifting and jigging over ledges or humps will produce savage strikes from trout and this is no time for daydreaming. Arctic Grayling can be caught in the channel between the Lakes and in the McRae River, so bring your ultra light or fly rod for these beautiful and aggressive fighting fish.

Season: June to September

Difficulty: Easy

Fly in Fishing Lodge Yellowknife

Situated right in between a narrow channel that connects Duncan and Graham Lakes, surrounded by a dramatic landscape that is quite mountainous in appearance. The Canadian Shield here is elevated more than normal and very rugged. This adventure lodge offers more than just fishing. Canoeing, kayaking, boating, hiking and wildlife watching are also available. The area has beautiful beaches, amazing views and plenty of water to play in so there is something for everyone. Later in the season when the days are shorter, the aurora borealis fills the night sky and bring dramatic closure to the day's fishing. Our hot tub is the best place to watch these spectacular light displays.
