Oregon Inlet Fishing Charter Outer Banks NC

Oregon Inlet Fishing Charter Outer Banks NC

fishing
Enjoy a relaxing and exciting half or full day fishing charter aboard the Fish-N-Fool, a modern 36' solid fiberglass Carolina Sportfisher built by Hatteras Yachts and the Captain.  Equipped with twin diesels, Captain owned, operated and maintained, she is very safe and comfortable in most any sea conditions.

Experience fishing from Oregon Inlet on the calm Sound Waters where you're likely to troll for Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel.  Bottom Fishing may yield croaker, flounder, trout, spot and black drum or live bait around one of the bridges for stripers and puppy drum. We've had excellent catches of school sized stripers over the past few years.

fishingPerhaps you may enjoy a shrimping and crabbing trip. On these excursions we drag a shrimp net and catch, shrimp, fish, soft and hard shell crabs.

Summer fishing has officially begun. The taylor blues have shown up in a big way.  Spanish Mackerel should be not far behind & absolutely fantastic Cobia reports south of Hatteras / Ocracoke all the way down to Florida, & they are heading this way.

Spring Fishing

fishingIn the spring, water temperatures are warming and fishing is in a transition. Species caught on an Inshore Trip might include: taylor bluefish, striped bass, trout, and croaker. On an intermediate trip, the species include: big blues, king mackerel, striped bass, and black sea bass.

Summer Fishing

In the summer, the water has warmed and we have the largest variety of taylor blues, spanish mackerel, trout, croaker, flounder, striped bass, and puppy drum, (redfish) to name a few. On our intermediate trips, taylor blues, spanish mackerel, puppy drum, cobia, amberjack, king mackerel, albacore, and shark are not uncommon.

*Call about shrimping and crabbing trips.

Fall Fishing

fishingThe fishing gets really hot in the fall with some spectacular catches. Inshore we still see some taylor blues, spanish mackerel, puppy drum, striped bass, and trout. On our intermediate trips, amberjack, king mackerel, black sea bass, triggerfish, and shark are all a possibility. Albacore fishing on light tackle was super last year and all indications show a great year again.

Late Fall/Winter Fishing

October and November bring in BIG striped bass to the Inlet averaging 18 to 30 pounds and are great fun on light to medium tackle. Big bluefish are always a possibility around the middle of November. Wreck fishing is usually good with catches of triggerfish, black sea bass, and togue. Last year, Christmas and New Years weeks produced super catches of BIG striped bass with limit catches not uncommon.

Winter
The winter in Outer Banks NC has VERY BIG winter Rockfish.  Wreck fishing for Black Sea Bass is also a good bet this time of year.

Docked at Oregon Inlet Fishing Center in the beautiful Cape Hatteras National Seashore the Fish-N-Fool offers year round fishing Outer Banks charters.
