For those more accomplished anglers, we are able to provide you with some of the most challenging and technically difficult fly fishing you will experience anywhere. The waters we fish are the finest the area has to offer, not to mention some of the finest in the world. Our fly fishing guides work hard to put you on fish and we guarantee they will provide you with a memorable experience. Asheville Fly Fishing Wade Trips  Asheville is blessed with some of the finest fly fishing opportunities east of the Mississippi. Whether it's crawling from pool to pool casting dries to weary brook trout on the headwater streams or stalking super selective brown and rainbow trout on the tailwaters of the Watauga and South Holston, we have it all.
Wade fishing is a great way to experience the outdoors without being confined to a boat. If you are new to this sport, we can tailor a day of wade fishing to get you started. We will begin with a casting lesson first thing in the morning and then head to the river and catch fish. We typically meet at the fly shop in Asheville at 8:00 a.m. and take care of any last minute items, then proceed to the stream of choice and fish until you have had enough! LOCATIONS:

 The tailwaters of North Carolina and Tennessee are some of the best in the Southeast. Many of our clients fish Western tailwaters in the summer months and use our local tailwaters to get an early start on their season and tune up their techniques after the winter. Depending on your desire to catch wild fish or stocked fish, we have a tailwater to suit you. Tailwater fishing can be especially difficult. The abundance of insects in these man-made streams allows for the fish to very selectively. The only way to have a chance for success is to have someone fish these waters extensively for several years, learning the insect population, and the typical holding locations for the fish. Our float trips are done in either a driftboat or a raft with a maximum of two anglers and their guide. As fishing from a boat is a bit more difficult than wade fishing, our guides are more than willing to give you a casting demonstration before putting in. Those that are unable to wade safely may find a float trip as a way to still be on the water.

This is one of our favorite things to do. The one angler - one guide ratio gives us the best oportunity to help the beginning angler or help refine the skills of the intermediate or advanced angler.
We customize the instruction to match your needs and the locations we can use are any of our wade trip locations. We can do a full day of private instruciton or a four hour day once a week. No matter what you're looking for, we'll be more than glad to come up with a package to fit what you have in mind..
