We offer clients a wide range of sport fishing escapes that involve trolling, casting and jigging the remote outer Hauraki Gulf for yellowtail kingfish, trevally, snapper, kawhai, tuna and hapuka to ame just a few of the species that we target.
In the comfort of our 500-ton luxury ship you can be sure you will receive professional service and important local knowledge from our crew and guides. Your ship carries only 20 guests in 10 very spacious and individually designed en-suite cabins to allow guests the space seldom found on a ship of this size.
Onboard facilities include satellite TV, iridium phones, Shimano and Sage tackle, 4 fishing tenders pus a 5-seat helicopter. We carry a crew of 8 including our professional chef to see to your every need. A fine wine cellar plus a wide range of spirits, beer and juices are complimentary while onboard.
Join the ship from Auckland or our twin-engine helicopters will fly you from our base in Mechanics Bay directly to and from the ship. After landing on the ship you are transfered to one of our 7 metre centre console sport-fish boats. Or you may comfortably fish from onboard the mother ship.
Our outdoor restaurant and bar is handy and there is a dedicated fishing platform located at the stern of the ship with a 130lb game chair set up for trolling. We provide bait and lures plus all the fishing gear. Shimano is our choice of gear on all of our boats.
Our fishing excursions cater for both fishing and non-fishing guests and include first class excursions led by expert guides who travel with you and uncover the mysteries of Auckland's Hauraki Gulf.
Whilst the anglers are enjoying their fishing trip on our guided tender boats, our non-fishing guests can luxuriate in a gourmet picnic ashore, relax with a good book in the library or laze on a steamer deck chair in the sun... you decide...
The beauty of the 'Island Passage' is the size and flexibility. A group can book the entire ship and spend quality time fishing at wonderful locations. Or individuals and smaller groups can join one of the heli-fishing or fishing expeditions.
