Lake Taneycomo Fishing
Lake Taneycomo is 22 miles and 2080 acres of crystal clear water is nestled in beautiful Taney County, Missouri. Formed in 1913 with the construction of Powersite Dam, Taneycomo is officially classified as a lake, however it's structure and function is more like that of a river.

When Table Rock Dam was built in 1958, Taneycomo's water supply then became the clear cold water from the bottom of it's resevoir. The only thing trout need more than water is cold water. This, combined with Missouri's aggressive trout conservation and stocking programs have made Taneycomo an ideal place for the production of record-size brown and rainbow trout

Fly Fishing Classes
River Run offers a variety of classes geared at teaching you the "fine art" of fly fishing. From tying flies to actually getting them wet, there's something to learn here for everyone.

Two-day fly fishing schools are being scheduled as requested. Call and check on our two-people special rate.

Classes include 1/2 day classroom learning about equipment, knots, aquatic entomology, water reading, stream etiquette, plus tips on continuing your learning process. The afternoon is at the water learning basic casts. Second day is on the water refining your casting, learning various presentation techniques and catching fish. All equipment is furnished. We have an excellent selection at our store if you prefer to purchase your equipment.Classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. CLASS SIZES ARE LIMITED. During the months of January through April,, we will hold fly tying clinics on the third Saturday and a "Fly of the Month" clinic on the fourth Saturday of these months. The "Fly Tying Clinic" is directed to the beginning fly tyer. The "Fly of the Month" will feature how to tie and discussions on how to fish: Sculpins, Soft Hackles, Crackle Backs and Midges.

All fly tying sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m. and run until 1:00 p.m. All materials are furnished.
