The first resort guests arrived at Pehrson Lodge by steamboat in 1900 and they have been returning ever since. Now as then, we strive to provide the classic Minnesota resort experience. The main lodge is the grand lodge for which Pehrson Lodge was named. Built in the early 1930's the lodge has been an area land mark since its construction.
The lodge houses the resort office and registration, gift shop, library, TV area and spacious game room. The game room and library are key on occasional rainy days. Pool, table tennis, foosball, numerous board games, and pinball keep guests having fun. The library is a gathering area for children and adults. Lake Vermilion Walleye Tactics
Lake Vermilion is a classic Canadian Shield Lake, with over 1200 miles of mostly rocky shoreline and 44,00 acres. There are approximately 350 island scattered throughout the lake. Walleye are probably the most sought after fish on Vermilion, but what makes this area such a great destination is that it is a strong fishery for many species of fish. Smallmouth and Largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and perch can be found on good numbers. Northern Pike are another popular fish and since 1986 a very successful muskie stocking program has made Vermilion one of the premier muskie lakes, with many 50" fish being caught. Choose a lakeside cabin perched just feet from the water or a cabin overlooking our expansive sand beach. Lake Vermilion Cabins on our secluded point provide peace and a spectacular view of the Minnesota sunset. You may prefer our "Woods" cabins, set on a grassy hill, offering a panoramic view of the lake.

 We are fortunate to have the most experienced Lake Vermilion (West end) guides fishing out of Pehrson lodge on a daily basis. A guided trip is the very best way to get to know the lake. Lake Vermilion fishing guides are on the water every day and know what the fish are doing. They will show you the most productive areas, depths and techniques for each species of fish you wish to target.
