Lake Vermilion is a shield lake of just over 40,000 acres and is surrounded by parts of the Superior National Forest and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Lake Vermilion spans about 25 miles East to West, has many miles of picturesque shorelines, and 365 islands. It is the 5th largest lake within Minnesota borders and one of its' premier Walleye fisheries.
