Starting Jan 31, 2008 when re-entering the U.S. from Mex by vehicle the U.S. border patrol will ask to see a passport OR a birth certificate and a government issued photo ID (drivers license). If you have no birth certificate 2 picture ID's will be OK. Kids 19 yrs and under only show a birth certificate, no picture ID. New reqmnt only for the U.S. side, the Mex side won't ask for anything.
