San Jose del Cabo

The historic old town of San Jose del Cabo, 10 minutes from the Los Cabos Airport, boasts some great offshore fishing at the world renowned Gordo Banks, long considered one of the most productive and consistent fishing areas in Mexico. The variety and quality of the varied gamefish make this a true fishermen's paradise. Species such as black, blue and striped marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, dorado, wahoo, roosterfish, sierra, pargo, grouper, yellowtail, amberjack, pompano, along with many other types can be found throughout the year, depending on gamefish migrations, bait supply, water temperature, and ocean currents. The tuna bite in October and November is outrageous! Our long time clients go back year after year to fill their coolers. ***Packages including 3 nights at a 5 star resort (all inclusive with meals, drinks, tax, gratuities and entertainment) and 2 days of Super Panga fishing including crew, tax, tackle, from $440.00 per person (Airfare is additional).

EAST CAPE

The East Cape of Baja California has long been one of our favorite spots for Mexico sportfishing. Located 45 miles north of the San Jose del Cabo Airport, the East Cape resorts overlook the Sea of Cortez, the largest fish trap in the Eastern Pacific and one of the most beautiful and abundant eco-systems for fish and wildlife. The offshore waters of Palmas Bay are home to Black, Blue and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Dorado and Roosterfish. The East Cape evokes the Hemingway era of the 40's where fishing from a panga reminds us of the saga of "The Old Man and the Sea" and relaxing under a palm thatched bar overlooking the glorious Sea of Cortez, a memorable Margarita in hand, makes us long to stay forever. We represent many of the East Cape resorts such as HOTEL PALMAS DE CORTEZ, a 5 star fishing resort, BUENAVISTA BEACH RESORT often called "The Jewel of the East Cape", HOTEL PLAYA DEL SOL, a friendly family owned resort, HOTEL PUNTA COLORADA, an isolated, true fishermen's fishing resort and RANCHO LEONERO, small, remote and beautiful with great snorkeling, diving and beach fishing. ***Packages including 3 nights at an East Cape resort (all resorts include meals, tax & gratuities) and 2 days of cruiser fishing (4 per boat) including crew, tax AND round trip airport transfers, start at $530.00 per person (airfare additional).

LORETO

Located 84 miles south of Mulege and 217 miles north of La Paz is the historic town of Loreto or "Conchó" meaning "red mangrove" in the indigenous language.

Loreto, an ancient Mexican fishing village is the home of California's first mission founded in 1696 that still stands today in the town square. The quaint cobblestone streets, Spanish fountains and many shops are within walking distance of Hotel Oasis, La Mision Hotel and the Desert Inn Hotel. The Inn at Loreto Bay, a newer 5 star resort, is 8 miles out of town and has a golf course and tennis courts. Not only is it the oldest town in Baja California, but its surrounding scenery is incomparable; the magnificent Sierra de la Giganta mountain range, the awesome desert and the azure Sea of Cortez. Facing Loreto are it's volcanic islands, Coronado with turquoise waters and sea lion colonies; Isla Carmen with beautiful beaches and coves; the Danzantes with rocky edges and small coves, a paradise for scuba diving; and Catalina, a favorite of the ecologist for its unique flora and fauna.

The surrounding islands offer superb sportfishing with an abundance of fish like yellowtail, sailfish, dorado, marlin, wahoo and roosterfish. Sportfishing has made Loreto famous and is one of its main tourist activities. Here you will often see huge schools of frolicking dolphin and if you are lucky you will see a blue whale, the largest animal on the planet. A wide area of the Sea of Cortez that includes Loreto was declared a National Marine Park by the Mexican government, thus preserving the pristine waters there. ***Packages for 3 nights at HOTEL OASIS, 2 days fishing on a Super Panga with crew & tax and roundtrip airport transfers start at $495 per person.

BIG GAME FISHING, INC ALSO HAS COMPLETE MEXICO FISHING PACKAGES AVAILABLE TO LA PAZ, MAZATLAN, IXTAPA/ZIHUATANEJO, PUERTO VALLARTA AND CANCUN. WE ALSO HAVE PACKAGES TO ALASKA'S KENAI AND OTHER ALASKA FISHING DESTINATIONS, BRITISH COLUMBIA AND COSTA RICA.
