Sasaginnigak Lake
manitoba fishing lodgeThe native word Sasaginnigak means "many ways to go" and is a fitting name for a lake with over 100 islands. These islands combine to create over 177 miles of fishable shoreline, so there is no shortage of choices to try find that next "hot spot".

For your fishing enjoyment Sasaginnigak Lake offers over 8600 surface acres of water, fitting roughly into an 8 mile by 8 mile area. Part of the Bloodvein River system, there is one river flowing in and two flowing out of the lake. Underwater structure ranges from rock reefs, drop-offs, shallow weedy bays and open deep water. The depth ranges from 50 to 150 feet. The water is a clear whiskey colour which prevents the water temperature from increasing during the hot mid-summer which allows continued strong fishing all season long.

Sasaginnigak Lake is a High-Quality Management Lake with conservation limits. This means you are allowed no more than 4 walleye and 4 northern.  Walleye over 55cm (22 inches) and northern over 75cm (30 inches) must be released. Barbless hooks must be used. No live bait is allowed. Please see the Angler's Guide (available when you purchase your fishing license) for more information on Manitoba fishing regulations. Please help us support a healthy fishery by using catch & release safe handling methods and keeping only what you will eat.

The Outcamps

Fishing at an outcamp lake, for many, is the ultimate fly-in fishing experience. You and your group are the only people on the lake, staying at the only cabin on the lake. You are completely on your own for your entire stay. We provide a satellite phone for emergency contact but other wise we won't be in touch with you until the plane lands to pick you up again.

manitoba fishing lodgeApisko Lake
Apisko is a great mid-size lake. It is easily navigated with no shortage of spots to try, even on those longer stays. Apisko proudly boasts the largest Northern on record in the province of Manitoba. The 60 ½” Northern was caught and released in 2004. Apisko has a gorgeous log cabin which sleeps 8 in three bedrooms and overlooks the water in three directions.

Apisko has a beautiful log cabin that was built in 2004 and is fully solar powered (with a back-up generator). The cabin is situated on a small point so you have a view of the water on three sides. There is a flush toilet, shower, wood-burning stove and hand-carved log table and chairs. The 1000 sq ft cabin sleeps eight in three bedrooms all on single beds (no bunks). Minimum group size of four please.

Charron Lake
manitoba fishing lodge The crystal clear water of this meteor lake is the first thing that stands out about it. Its immense size is another outstanding feature. A large open body of water with depths up to 200 feet is fringed with smaller areas of water providing a vast choice of fishing spots. The main shoreline totals over 150 miles with islands and reefs where Northern, Walleye and Lake Trout can be found.

Kesch Lake

Kesch (Keschismeeneko) is a great little lake, easy to navigate with lots of little bays and varied shoreline to fish. The two-bedroom cabin sleeps six and the docks and boats are new and well maintained. Kesch's close proximity to Sasaginnigak helps make a trip to Kesch very affordable as well.

Atikaki Provincial Wilderness Park

We are the heart of Atikaki. Atikaki preserves prime Canadian Shield, a geographic area renowned for incredible nature, wildlife habitat, amazing fishing and is of native cultural significance. The terrain and physical geography that make this part of Canada inaccessible for development are the exact same reasons that make it incredibly pristine and predominantly undisturbed by man. With the protection of Atikaki, Sasaginnigak will remain the way it is for generations to come.
