Of the three major offshore fishing ports on the Louisiana coast, Grand Isle is perhaps the best kept secret. We are located directly on the Gulf of Mexico with direct access to all of the more popular waters that people are familiar with. We are the same distance from famous spots such as the midnight lump as any other port in the state.
Grand Isle is a fully functional town with all of the comforts of home. We have hundreds of rental rooms, some starting at $59.00 a night. There is full service grocery stores, marinas, night life, beach access, etc. We rarely encounter the debilitating fog that is common to the Mississippi River. Daryl Carpenter, owner / operator of Reel Screamers Guide Service has been fishing the waters of South Louisiana for years, finally settling on the salty banks of Grand Isle. With a passion for being on the water it was only natural that Reel Screamers Guide Service would eventually be formed. Spending the day on the water with the prospect of fighting some of the many species of fish that the area has to offer is an intoxicating experience for Daryl and he wants to make sure that his customers have a chance to experience this for themselves. Your day will be challenging but fun and relaxing as you enjoy what the Louisiana outdoors has to offer.

Our Grand Isle marsh fishing charters are run from 22 foot bay boats. Rest assured that the boats are maintained and outfitted with all of the necessary safety equipment to insure a safe day on the water. We prefer to keep the party to 4 people on the inshore boat but can consider larger parties. We run with a network of other boats so there is no problem bringing in other boats for large parties.
The normal trip leaves the dock at safe light from Bridgeside Marina. The destination depends on the current activity of the targeted species. You could be fishing the beaches of Grand Isle and Elmer's Island for the summer time specks or hitting the inland reefs, canals, ponds and cuts for Specks or Red Fish.
All you will need to bring are your essentials such as sun screen, camera, food and any beverages that you want. Please, no hard soled shoes on the boat.
Aside from fishing, the inland marshes of South Louisiana are full of wildlife. You will enjoy a full day of cruising the marshes in search of your prey all the while enjoying what Louisiana has to offer.
The fishing usually ends around 2:00 PM where you return to Bridgeside Marina where you are welcome to relax and enjoy the evening while your fish are cleaned and bagged for your ride home.
A 3 day Charter fishing license is available at the marina for $5.00.
Grand Isle Deep Sea Fishing Charters
Our Off Shore Grand Isle deep sea fishing charters are run from a 28 foot Hydra Sport Vector Powered by twin Suzuki 250 HP outboards. This boat is fast, getting you to the fish without a long lumbering ride. The boat is licensed for up to 6 anglers per trip. (additional boats are available for larger parties).
Grand Isle deep sea fishing charters
will target any of a
number of species including Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Grouper,
King and Spanish Mackerel, Cobia (Ling, Lemon Fish), Trigger Fish and
Amber Jack. The truth is when you drop your line into the waters along
side one of these rigs you never know what will take the bait.
Bluewater trips focus on Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo and other species of the deep.
You, the customer will be provided with all of the fishing equipment that you need.
You will need to bring any beverages and food that you need for the day. Some catering can be arranged in advance.
Bluewater trips typically run about 12 hours. As the day draws to a close the boat returns to Bridgeside Marina where you are free to relax and unwind as your fish are cleaned and bagged for the ride home.
This is an all inclusive trip with no hidden cost. Women and children are always welcome, but beware they usually catch the most fish.
What do you need to do? Make sure you dress for the conditions of the day, have plenty of sun screen and your camera. Only soft soled, non marking shoes are allowed on the boat. Have your ice chest handy so your filets have a nice cold ride home. All anglers will need a Louisiana Fishing License. Three day passes are available for $5.00.
Your deckhand is there to make your trip more enjoyable, please remember him at the end of the day.
