Kona deep sea fishing, Kona Snorkeling, and Kona Scuba Diving are what we do. Kona Whale Watching and Kona Dolphin Encounters round out a full array of Kona activities on and in Kona's calm, clear, blue coastal waters.

You choose the activity, or combination of activities, decide how long you want to be on the water, and we'll do the rest. Your boat and crew are eager to make your charter a safe and fun day in, on, and/or under the clear blue Kona Waters.

Shogun has comfortable bridge and cockpit seating, a large cockpit with fighting chair, a salon with air conditioning, a full galley, a marine head and 2 staterooms. She is equipped with autopilot, GPS, fish finder, radar, VHF Radio and she carries USCG required safety equipment including an EPIRB. She is equipped with 30#, 80# and 130# Penn International Reels.

Captain Ray holds a 100 Ton Master's License issued by the United States Coast Guard and is a PADI Certified Dive Master. As owner/operator Captain Ray (Rayjay) Kalman has been at the helm since 2001. He has been diving Kona Reefs since 1982 and fishing Kona's waters since 1997. In addition to his fishing and diving experience, Captain Rayjay has over 40 years of professional experience in the Recreation/Adventure and Boating Industry.

As a professional, Captain Ray knows that your Kona deep sea fishing charter may be the highlight of your vacation to the Big Island. In addition to providing an experienced and friendly crew, we will do whatever we can to make your day special by offering you custom charter options to meet your needs and interests. And, we will go the extra mile to simplify your day by providing food and beverages.

All fishing equipment is provided and a fishing license IS NOT required. We use Penn International two-speed reels and troll with surface lures most of the time. We prefer to tag/release billfish and are happy to fillet any catch under 50# for your consumption. If a billfish is boated, it belongs to the boat and crew. However, we are happy to arrange for a mount of your trophy catch for you.

Our COMBO CHARTER is our most popular charter. We include snacks, beverages and lunch on all 6, 7, and 8 hour charters. There are very few Kona charter boats that offer these options.

Imagine deep sea fishing in kona, snorkeling and even diving all on the same day. And, we will feed you a deli-licious lunch to boot! While most charter boats do not offer this option, we are happy to put together any combination of activities for you, your family and friends.

Our most popular combo is our 7 Hour or 8 Hour fishing and snorkel/dive combo. We will fish for the "big fish" for approximately 4-5 hours and spend about 2-3 hours at Kealakekua Bay snorkeling and/or diving. After your snorkel in this spectacular underwater sanctuary, we will serve you a deli-licious lunch.

While cruising the Kona Coast, often we will encounter whales and/or dolphins. Add this to fishing, a snorkel, or dive and what you have is a GRAND SLAM DAY!

If your time is limited, you will have the opportunity to enjoy in one day what most people need 2-3 separate charters to accomplish

Get wet. . . cool off! Many of our customers appreciate being able to get wet, swim, snorkel, or dive on a 3/4, 7 Hour, or full day charter
