You will also have the chance to see Whales, Dolphins (mammals), and many of the other sea creatures you may encounter on a sport fishing charter in Hawaii. The Live- Bait Sport Fishing Crew Captain Shannon Frazier has been fishing most of his life. Raised in San Diego, California, Shannon fished out of San Diego on long range fishing boats to Mexican waters for all types of game fish. Living close to Mexico, he trailered his boat to Cabo San Lucus and all of Baja in search of the best fishing he could find. After moving to Hawaii in 1985, he received a lot of experience fishing off the Big Island. Shannon started Oahu sport fishing off the Waianae coast in 1994. As an angler, Shannon has lots of experience catching fish such as Yellowfin tuna, Wahoo, Spearfish, Mahi Mahi and Marlin. As a Captain he enjoys sharing the excitement of big game fishing with other anglers as they fulfill their dreams.  With her love for the ocean, Nami Nishikawa received her marine biology degree in 1996 at Tokai University of Marine Science in Japan.
She spent last years of college researching the spawning behaviors of corals and rockcods in Okinawa Research Center. Nami loves to meet people from all over the world and enjoys being out in the sea from fishing to diving. Her motto is: Respect the ocean and She will give you back the pleasure of Nature. Oahu Sport Fishing Charter Boat  The "Live Bait" is a 31 foot Bertram. This boat is made for fishing. Her back deck is wide open with a big game door, a single fighting chair and a flow through 100-gallon bait well. For your safety and comfort, she has a full compliment of electronics, a fly bridge and a marine head (toilet) and exceeds U. S. Coast Guard requirements for safety equipment.

Don't worry about fishing tackle! "Live Bait" provides all the fishing equipment needed to catch Marlin, Wahoo (Ono), Tuna (Ahi), Mahimahi, and anything else that has the misfortune to cross our path. Just bring food and drinks.
Our policy is to try to assure that everyone on the boat gets an opportunity to fight a fish and has enough fish to take home for a meal. However, please be aware that a major portion of the crews income is derived from the sale of fish and therefore we give our charters, as a group, 40 lbs of whole fish or about 20 lbs of filets. Any leftovers stay with the boat. This policy works to your advantage as it often means staying with a school of fish that are biting as opposed to being back at the dock when your time is up. Note: Please bring plastic bags or an empty cooler to take some fish home. The fragrance of fish has a tendency to linger in car interiors! Tipping of the crew is appropriate and greatly appreciated.
