Unspoiled Crooked Lake is a “Bass Fisherman’s Dream” nestled deep within Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park. The QEW Park is a 82,793 acre (33,505 hectare) natural environment class park, just southeast of Muskoka within the City of Kawartha Lakes. It is one of the most diverse and least disturbed natural areas found in Central Ontario. Isolated on a peninsula in Crooked Lake, with only boat and air access, Crooked Lake Wilderness Lodge’s many choices of activities culminate in an outdoor experience unmatched within such a short distance of Toronto. World Class Bass Fishing
- Largemouth bass are one of the most aggressive fighting fish in the world and will give any fisherman a challenge. The perfect spot for your own private fishing tournament!
- Smallmouth bass are also plentiful and pound for pound, one of the toughest fighting fish. Travel the length of Crooked Lake and find the perfect spot to enjoy the thrill of Bass Fishing.
- With the exception of some shore lunch or menu items, the Lodge adheres to a policy of catch and release.
- Perfect as well for children, and non-fishermen learning to fish as there is constant action, with a bite almost every cast, even from the docks putting worms on and taking fish off hooks can be a constant exciting pastime. Great entertainment for families and groups who enjoy the wild side of nature!
Fishing Season for Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass is November 30 to June 24
Fish, Canoe, Hike, Rock Climb, Revitalize, socialize, take pictures or do absolutely nothing. Spend evenings around the fire, roasting marshmallows, telling fish tales, playing games or making music. Crooked Lake is ideal for a cool dip, water play, or a long swim. Whether you seek privacy or company, at Crooked Lake Wilderness Lodge there are several decks to sunbathe, read a book, chill, or socialize.
The High House has 6 comfortable private Lakeview guestrooms with private entrances . The cozy bedrooms are tidily appointed with Full beds, with spare cots available for each room as well as private ensuite bathrooms.
The historic Stone House offers a truly unique nostalgic adventure, sleeping up to 10 on 3 levels, bunkhouse style, ideal for the youth, or young at heart, who yearn for a simpler time, or want to engage with friends and/or family in a rustic relaxed party house.
The main lodge boasts a commercial propane kitchen, friendly dining room and cell phone lounge, as well as a sunrise dining deck over the captivating Crooked Lake which is a Bass fisherman’s dream. Also, there are 2 Staff rooms for caretakers with private 4 piece baths and private decks and entrances (usually reserved for staff).
The Card House bar and games room features a cozy gas fireplace, wet bar, water cooler, ice machine, beverage fridges, flat screen TV/DVD player, magnificent vistas to enjoy, and the spacious Sunset deck.
