Alex uses 2 Skiffs to cover all the clients needs
The maverick HPX-V 18, equipped with a Yamaha 115 four stroke, is the ultimate Oceanside fly/bait tarpon boat. Incredibly stable, roomy, yet light and versatile. Best for making long and fast runs into the backcountry while keeping the clients dry and comfortable. It is an awesome fishing machine for tarpon, permit, bonefish and backcountry fishing.
Maverick 17 HPX-T:
The maverick HPX-T 17, equipped with a Yamaha 70 two stroke, is Alex's boat of choice for sightfishing in the Everglade's shallow waters. This boat is really light and nimble on the pole, yet very stable and spacious. It floats in 5 inches of water and runs in mud puddles. There is not a redfish or snook that is too shallow for this boat. It is also outfitted with oversized/custom made spray rails to keep my clients dry and comfortable during long runs.
Biscayne Bay and Florida Keys Fly/Light Tackle Fishing
Alex guides anglers fly fishing for Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, Redfish, Snook and Sharks in the wonderful and rich flats of the Florida Keys. You will be given the necessary instruction and coaching to accomplish your goals according to your skill level.
Flats Sight Fishing:
Sight fishing requires a high degree of patience and skill. Whether you are using fly or light tackle, sight fishing charters offer some of the finest inshore fishing in South Florida. I have trips dedicated for both professional and novice anglers. All this sounds very hard to do, however, your guide will be there to help. Your guide has an "educated eye" from years of experience targeting these fish, and he or she will give you the necessary instruction and coaching to spot fish and make effective presentations. A key piece of equipment you must have is a good quality pair of polarized glasses. If you can’t see the fish, you can’t catch them! For flats fishing; clear skies, amber or brown lenses work best. For low light conditions, bronze or yellow lenses work best. Get the best sunglasses that you can afford. A good long bill hat also helps providing shade and cutting the glare.
Alex can conduct fishing trips in Flamingo, Everglades National Park and Biscayne Bay areas. These are his main bodies of water that he knows well. During any day of fishing, we can see a wide variety of birds and wildlife that includes Alligators, Raccoons, Manatees, Dolphins, Snakes, Deer, Bobcats, Herons, Ospreys, Roseate Spoonbills, Falcons, Bald Eagles, Egrets, Owls and Pelicans. We will fish for Redfish, Snook, Black Drum, Sea Trout, Sharks, Tarpon, Jacks, Ladyfish, Cobia, Mackerel and Snappers.
Rates apply to 1 or 2 anglers, 3rd angler add $65 (I only fish 3 anglers for bait trips, not including sight fishing. Kids under 10 are not counted as a 3rd angler)
