Lauderdale or Boca Raton looking to get in some flats fishing or sight fishing without incurring much off-the-water travel time!

Within minutes, stepping off a plane at Miami or Ft. Lauderdale airports and on board the TAR-BÕN headed to the first flat can be a reality.

Miami Flats Fishing Guide Captain Jerry Murphy

Biscayne bay Florida SportfishingCaptain Murphy has been fishing for over 50 years from Canada to Key West and Michigan to Virginia, pursuing everything from blue gills to bass, trout to bonefish, muskys to tarpon.

Introduced to fly fishing at age 10, the fly rod is his tool of choice although he is also proficient with plug and spin casting. (Casting instructions given upon request for fly, spin, plug.)

For the last 35 years, Capt. Murphy has been Miami flats fishing in south Florida and the Keys where his passion has been Bonefish, Permit and Tarpon. He also guides for redfish, snook and trout in the back country and bass in fresh water.

Capt. Murphy holds a "Master Near Coastal" Coast Guard Captain's license and is fully insured. Fishing licenses are provided for all passengers.

Florida Keys FishingBoat and Gear:

Capt. Murphy's boat, the TAR-BÕN , is a 17'- 8" Hells Bay Boatworks "Whipray Professional". It's powered by a non-poluting 4-stroke MERC EFI 60 HP engine. The light skiff floats in about 4" of water, an excellent craft for sight fishing the flats.

Gear and tackle on board includes top of the line Orvis, Sage, Loomis, Penn, Ross, Shimano and Daiwa rods and reels. Clients may bring their own personal gear if desired. Advise Capt. before charter date to acertain storage.

Florida Tarpon FishingMiami Flats Fishing Guide Rates

half-day (4 hours of fishing) are $450

3/4 day (6 hours of fishing) are $500

full day (8 hours of fishing) are $550

A $100 deposit is required to confirm reservations dates. (Deposit will be refunded in the event Captain declares dangerous weather conditions).
