Crystal River, Homosassa, Ozello and Yankeetown Inshore Fishing

Redfish, Trout, Cobia, Shark, Tripletail, Grouper, and Tarpon

Red Hot Fishing Charters is a full-time, year-round Guide Service located in heart of Florida’s Nature Coast. Citrus County otherwise known as the Nature Coast is home to the Homosassa, Crystal River and Salt Rivers - all of which provide a number of World Class fishing opportunities for over 20+ fish species year round. Redfish, Speckled Trout, Shark, Grouper, Tarpon, Tripletail, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, and Bonita are just a few of the inshore species of fish that we target daily during a Red Hot Fishing Charter. Each fish offers anglers unique fishing opportunities both in their fighting styles as well as the areas in which we pursue these fish.

A Red Hot Fishing Charter is a remarkable fishing experience mostly because of the areas fished, the scenery provided and the different types of fish targeted on any giving day. The Gin clear flats and mazes of creeks, cuts and coves are home to many of the local species, making sight casting to fish an easy and exciting test of an anglers ability. Spin Casting, Tossing Lures and Throwing Flies are just a few of our specialties. And it’s not uncommon to try all of them during a day out on the water.

Stalking Redfish, Trout, and Tarpon are my specialties, and opportunities to catch all three can occur on any giving day. Each month brings a variety of angling opportunities for the skilled as well as the novice angler but NO mater what your skill level is a trip can be customized to fit your desires. The best part about booking a fishing charter with Red Hot Fishing Charters is the fact that we don't fish spots, we fish areas which means that your lines will spend a majority of their day in the water instead of in the boat. Areas of unspoiled rocky coves, gin clear flats, and nearshore wrecks and reefs can all be fished within a day. Thus, allowing the angler many opportunities for catching a variety of species.

Novice anglers, experienced anglers, women and children are all welcome and encouraged. So, if long drag screaming runs are what you’ve been craving, call Red Hot Fishing Charters today. We are in the fishing memories business.

About the Captain

Hi, I am Captain Kyle Messier of Red Hot Fishing Charters. For the past 15 years inshore saltwater fishing has been more than just a passion to me, it has been a collection of different experiences over time. It is the uncertainty of each fishing day that drives me back to the crystal clear waters of the Nature Coast every day.

My enjoyment and excitement of the water, has led me to a career on the water with the early days of my fishing career being spent entering and winning fishing tournaments on my local waters of the Crystal River. At age 15, I won my very first junior tournament fishing by myself in a 14 ft. aluminum boat (Duck Unlimited Tourney).

My passion and the early success I had found helped contribute to my intense focus on becoming the best angler in the area. At age 17, I successfully guided my partner to a 5th place finish in one of the area's largest tournaments (Citrus County Builders Association).

Unfortunately, after I had graduated from school I came to realize that a career in fishing was not in my immediate future. However, my passion for the water led me away from a land job and propelled me towards a job in the commercial fishing industry. Many mental notes were made as I spent my days poling and fishing every creek, cut and cove in the local waters of the Crystal River, Homosassa, and Ozello areas. After 5 amazing years in the commercial fishing industry, I decided to try the local tournament series again in 2003 I found plenty of success with 3 top 3 finishes in the areas largest tournaments. Many anglers come from all over Florida to try their luck in these tournaments and it was my success in 2003 that led me to be where I am today. In 2003, I became the first back to back champion in Citrus County with championships in both the Civitan Charity tournament and Citrus County Builders Association tournament. It was then I decided to become a full-time guide because I wished to share my love, passion and knowledge of the waters of Homosassa and Crystal River with people from all over the world. And that is what you get every time you step foot in my customized Carolina Skiff, Action Craft or Maverick HPX a passionate captain whose love is the water and whose job is to cater to his clients.

Crystal River and Homosassa Fishing Rates

All fishing charters are customized based upon the types of fishing opportunities available and the type of fishing requested by the client. The Crystal River, Ozello and Homosassa areas offer a variety of different angling opportunities, mainly due to the vast amounts of unspoiled back county islands and crystal clear flats. Many species can be targeted during a day of fishing with Red Hot Fishing Charters. The calm cool mornings could be spend casting for hefty gator Trout around grass flats and deep pot holes or even casting spoons to tailing Redfish in a foot of gin clear water. And our afternoons could be just as exciting as we pursue Cobia and Sharks on some of the many local structures sprinkled through out the Gulf. What ever fish we encounter, I can assure you that every customer leaves with a fishing memory that will be etched in their minds forever.
