About the Captain

Orlando deep Sea FishingOriginally from Baltimore Maryland, Captain John moved to Tittusville when he was just 6 years old where he spent his days fishing with his father at every opportunity he had. Eventually moving to New Smyrna Beach at age 14 where he has remained a resident for over 38 years. Captain John grew up fishing the backwaters of Ponce Inlet and the surrounding areas.

In 1975 Captain John began commercial fishing , working on several of the local fishing boats until receiving his Captains License from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1977 and began running boats for a living. His love for fishing eventually led him to buying his first boat called "Christopher" in 1985 which he used for Sword-Fishing, Tuna and a variety of bottom fishing.

In 1988 he bought a Longliner and Wreckfisher called the "Orion" and fished from North Carolina to the Gulf of Mexico. For the next 10 years Captain John earned his livelihood providing fresh fish for the local market place.

After almost 20 years of fishing professionally Captain John traded in his long weeks at sea for a 40 foot vessel called the "Southwind". Today, Captain John enjoys offering private fishing charters where he gladly shares his vast fishing knowledge with his friends and guests.
