Galapagos Island Ecuador sport fishing charters for Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado

Galapagos Islands Sport Fishing Charters

The Galapagos islands are justly famous for their unique flora and fauna, as well as the extraordinary diversity of habitats. They have become a destination of choice for discerning tourists who seek something more satisfying than a run-of-the-mill holiday destination.

However, until recently the marine reserve has been completely off-limits for Galapagos sport fishing enthusiasts.

The waters of the Galapagos Islands, particularly those surrounding San Cristobal, offer unparalleled sport fishing - This is one of the most exciting and productive areas in the world to fish for:

- Marlin
- Tuna
- Wahoo
- Sailfish
- Bonito
- Dolfin Fish
- Dorado
- Barracuda
- many more....

Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, is the principal port of San Cristobal and provincial capital of the Galapagos Islands.

San Cristobal offers the finest Fishing, Diving and Surfing in the Galapagos.

Our flagship: Leodan (formerly known as Jhonamar II) has been providing first class service Galapagos Islands sport fishing for two years, under the practiced eye of Capitan Edwin Buenaňo. Subject to strict criteria for qualification, licensing and practice, the Galapagos National Park and Port Authority (Capitania) have now endorsed and maintain close control of a new activity: “Artisanal Vivencial Fishing” which, for brevity, we generally refer to as “Vivencial Fishing”

Finally, with the advent of Vivencial Fishing, Galapagos sport fishing enthusiasts can enjoy the extraordinary range and abundance of aquatic life that thrives in this unique habitat, at the same time ensuring that the local fish stocks are protected for future generations.

The waters of the Galapagos Islands, particularly the banks off Isla San Cristobal are arguably the finest on our planet for Big-game Fishing, particularly for Striped Marlin, which abound in spectacular numbers.

Galeodan invites you to go rod-to-bill with these magnificent creatures on a trip that you will never forget and will be longing to repeat.

Where We are ... San Cristobal

The Galapagos Islands, which are a province of Ecuador, lie approximately 600 miles offshore, in the Pacific Ocean. There are daily flights, from Quito and Guayaquil, to San Cristobal and Baltra (which serves Santa Cruz). Regardless of destination, most flights from Quito are via Guyaquil.

The flight from Guayaquil to Galapagos, takes about 1 hour, 40 minutes. From Quito, via Guayaquil, takes about 3 hours, 10 minutes.

Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, on the island of San Cristobal, is the provincial capital of the province. The airport is only a 5 minute taxi-ride from the centre.

Galeodan’s head office is in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.

Of course, the Galapagos have a lot more to offer besides great sport fishing. We can make your visit complete with numerous other exploratory and recreational activities, including:
