San Cristobal, Galapagos - Our premium destination:
If you want your best shot in the World to catch striped marlin then you have to fish the banks off of San Cristobal Island. The famous mound of Rosa Blanca Bank, Braden's Bank and Black sheep are 23 to 68 miles from the port of San Cristobal. On most days these banks have produced double digit raises of striped marlin. Blue marlin are no strangers either. Black marlin and sailfish are very rare in the Galapagos a few are caught every few years. In Galapagos we only use 4 stroke gasoline powered engines. Due to the poor quality of diesel fuel and the lack of marinas to work on boats we feel that gasoline powered boats are faster, safer and easier. This provides more time fishing and less time on repairs. The Island of San Cristobal has virtually no crime making it a worry free and safe place to bring the family. While the best time weather wise to catch marlin is November to June, we catch marlin all year in Galapagos.

Salinas was once called the striped marlin Mecca of the World. It still can be a terrific place to fish when the marlin migrate the waters on their way to Cabo Blanco. Salinas is less than 2 hours by car from Guayaquil.
