 Founded in 2002, the company maintains a fleet of twenty first class boats, equipped with the latest in sonar, fishing equipment and controls. Our team of captains and first mates of each boat have extensive knowledge of conventional, Fly Fishing, and Catch & Release .. The Pacific's best offshore fishing, inlcuding all types of Billfish, Dorado(Mahi-Mahi), Yellowfin Tuna and Marlin are just hours from our port, while the nearby, inshore waters are home to a plentiful supply of Roosterfish, Mackeral, Red Snapper, Wahoo and Jack Crevalle.
All our boats are full insured and equipped with state of the art electronics, navigational systems, gps, vhs radios, cell phones and fully rigged for Sportfishing.We use Penn International and Shimano Reels.
 The company offers half-day and full day charters as well as customized multi-day trips geared to the demands of the client. Both inshore and off shore trips are available. Rates range from $400.00 to $1400.00 depending on the length of trip and area chosen. Yellowfin Sportfishing Charters is actively involved with the preservation of Billfish in Costa Rica through the Billfish Foundation of Fort Lauderdale Florida, and is also connected with other animal and envirommental preservation efforts in Playa Flamingo. Yellowfin recycles all engine oil and only uses diesel fuel that does not contain lead to help keep the environment clean.
 We provide the services of the fishing to the most recognized hotels in the area such as Paradisus Playa conchal, Hacienda Pinilla, Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas, Tamarindo Diria and Four Seasons Resort in Papagayo.
We operate fishing tours from Playa Flamingo, Playa Carrillo, Los Suenos and Quepos in the south pacific coast of Costa Rica .  Marlin can be found every month of the year, specially from November to early March; then slowing from April to early June and picking up in August and September.
Sailfish are also available throughout the year, with May though August as the top season. The slowest months are from August through November, with September as the lowest time.
Tuna peaks from August through October. Yellow fin and Big eye tuna are found at Catalina Islands , 30 minutes from the beach where schools of 12 to 20 pounders are abundant. There are frequently large concentrations of 40 to 60 pound tuna and there are plenty of 200 to 400 pounders caught every year.
Wahoo season begins with the May rains and peaks in July and August.They are caught around rocky points and islands and occasionally offshore.
Rooster fish are available all year. The rooster like the structure of the shore-line and islands where they're found in 50 to 60 feet of water.
