We are located at the Los Suenos Resort and Marina on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, just 90 minutes from the San Jose airport. The water here is well known as one of the "hot spots" for world class sportfishing. We offer a wide variety of fishing charter options for our clients whether its your first time sportfishing or you are an experienced angler.

The MACUSHLA is a brand new 2005 38' cold-molded custom sportfisher. Our crew is English speaking and has over 20 years fishing the local waters.

We have just launched our second boat -- TRES AMIGOS. It is a 2006 custom 38' sistership to Macushla and will be available for charter January 21st. Charter with us and let us make your sportfishing dreams come true.

MACUSHLA is Gaelic for Sweetheart...
and that's just what this boat is! She is a brand new 38' cold molded custom-made sportfisher powered by twin Cummins 370B diesels and has a 10KW genset. Cruise speed is 28+, top speed is 35 knots. And...this boat raises fish!

No expense was spared in providing Macushla with the best in electronics: a 98 mile 25kw radar to find the birds, along with Simrad's best transducers and sounders. Two air conditioners provide for cooling in the cabin as well as the cockpit.

The galley is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, and there are bunks forward with a head and a shower. There is a live well and large fish box in the cockpit along with a Release Marine fighting chair.

Fishing gear is top drawer - Shimano reels TLD 30, Tiagra 50, 80 and 130's. Rods are Shimano and Cape Fear, along with spinning gear. Electric teaser reels, Rupp outriggers, and we also have fly fishing equipment available for your use.

Our liscensed captains and crews are English speaking , have over 20 years experience fishing the local waters and are dedicated to making your Los Suenos fishing charter trip successful and safe.

Safety equipment is on board and all approved by Direccion Navigacion de Seguridad of Costa Rica.

Our Captain on Tres Amigos is Gilfredo Lopez, affectionately known as Juanga. In 1997, 1998 and 1999 Juanga and his crew were recognized by the IGFA Billfish Foundation as the top White Marlin Crew.

During 2001, Juanaga was aboard the NuCo2 when they released 1,017 sailfish while fishing 71 days in Costa Rica.

You may have seen him on ESPN2 abaord the A-Fin-ity where they won the Billfish Extreme Release League Tournaments two years in a row 2002 and 2003. He took 2nd place in the Blue Marlin Tournament in Puerto Rico in 2003, 1st place in the Cabeza de Toro White Marlin tournament in the Dominican Republic in 2004, 2nd place in the Buccaneer Sailfish Tournament in Palm Beach, Florida in 2004, 2nd in the Presidential Challenge in Venezuela in 2005, and was the top IGFA white Marlin angler for 2005. Juanaga's experience and personality will enhance your fishing adventure abaord Tres Amigos.

Johnny Cerpas is the Macushla's licensed (English speaking) Captain, with 15+ years fishing the local waters. Safety equipment, fire extinguishers, life jackets, first aid equipment -- all approved by Direccion Navigacion de Seguridad.
