 Aldea Del Rio Sport Fishing is a less expensive alternative to the other fishing packages in the southern pacific area of Costa Rica. It was started and is operated by Rande Schuck, who fell in love with the fishing off the coast of Costa Rica and wanted to give others the chance to experience what he so loves...fishing! The boats leave from the Aldea del Rio boat dock in the small town of Sierpe, a sleepy Costa Rican village along the banks of the Sierpe River. Take a 25 minute ride down river and you will be into the open Pacific ocean providing you with an incredible fishing experience of a life time.

 Drake Bay Special Fishing Tournaments
If you are a group of 12,16 or 20 fishermen and are looking to come to Costa Rica between November and May then look no further! Aldea del Rio can hold a fishing tournament for your group! What a great way to have fun, fish, and win a little money from your friends or just split It up and make the trip less expensive for all. If your group is less than 12 people, or you would like a different format, let us know your request, and we will tailor make a specific tournament for your group.
Drake Bay Fishing Guides
 All of our captains and mates are native Costa Ricans with over 70 years of combined professional experience. As a group they have a vast local knowledge of the fishing areas in the Drake Bay and Sierpe waters. Our primary concern is of course, safety. In addition, we also practice conservation. At Aldea del Rio, we believe in a catch-and-release. All billfish and roosterfish are released and we keep only what you can eat and then release the balance. Presently, we do not offer packaging/flash freezing of your catch to bring back to your home. We would ask that our guests share in our efforts to protect the resource.
Osa Peninsula Costa Rica Fishing Boats
 All of our boats are new Apex ocean fishing Pangas. They are 27' fiberglass,foam-filled, center console, state of the art boats. All boats are equipped with the latest of VHF radio, GPS, and depth finder technology. All boats have swim platforms and are equipped with outriggers and Bimini canvas top for protection against the sun. Our boats are equipped a 120 HP, Mercury inboard/outboard diesel engines. They come equipped with 70 gallons diesel capability providing a range of approximately 350 miles. On all of our boats safety is the most important issue. All boats come equipped with life jackets, medical kits and all other safety gears. FISHING EQUIPMENT
At Aldea del Rio Sport Fishing, we feature light tackle in the 30-50 Lb. range on all of our boats. We offer stand up fishing with provided belts and also offer lighter tackle if desired, including spinning and bait casting reels. If you have fly fishing gear, you are encouraged to bring your own equipment. A number of our guests have had great success with their own fly fishing equipment. We feature Ugly Stick and Seeker fishing rods and AVET reels. We are a distributor for Costa Rica for AVET reels.
