Welcome to Chilean Patagonia..

Why Chilean Patagonia.... we can explain a little why to come. Without doubt it is the most pristine region on the earth. Simply, there is no way to fully express how pure and untouched this part of the world is. This is a region where is possible to drink water from the rivers, where food do not has chemists for control of plagues or genetic adulterations for growth, a region where everything is pure, with real untouched nature, endless primary forests and much more.
Also the particular culture of the Chilean Patagonia attracts the interest of most people who visited or had references of it. Its population is compound mostly by settlers families who arrived in the beginning of past century. Their life style didn't change too much since those first years. They have adapted to the severe climatic conditions of the winters and the permanent insulation. This is the reason why population density here is one of the lowest of the planet.

Our Patagonia contains a wide diversity of aquatic eco-systems, with some of the world's most secluded and undiscovered places for fly-fishing. We can guarantee that as soon as our clients arrive here, they will encounter many of the finest places for trout Fishing in the world, pristine and clear crystal waters in the rivers, lakes, secluded streams and lagoons. Most of these spots are accessible only by boat and have therefore remained untouched by people.

The region is covered with temperate rain forests with spectacular primary trees, some of the species of trees are Coigues, Ulmos, Arrayanes, Alerces, Manios or Cipreses. This Flora is a great remembrance of past times rare to find within the rest of the world. Here you can see fiords, glaciers, mountains and volcanos too beautiful to go unnoticed. There are hundred of species of birds. Patagonia is the home for Picaflores, Martin Pescadores, Traros, Tiuques, Aguilas, Chucaos among many others. It is common to see otters, minks, foxes and Pudus among other mammals.

Patagonia Chile Fishing (November - May)

The season extends from the second Friday of November to the first Sunday of May in the part north of the Patagonia and from second Friday of October to first Sunday of May in the part south.

In the beginning of the season, that is during November to January, there are a lot of Browns and Rainbow trout ranging between 2 to 4 Lbs. Trout fishing is very productive in most rivers and streams. We use to go to many different fishing spots at this period of the year and depending on the conditions, fishing could be nymphing, trying dry flies and of course with streamers. These last patterns are specially appropriate to catch large browns. Many of our clients have caught 9 or 10 lbs browns.

In the middle of the fishing season, that is from February through first part of March, the main returns of the Chinook salmon begins at some rivers. They are not easy of catching by flies, but the run is an entire show by itself, the average size of these fish is 15 lbs but they often weigh 30 pounds or even more. This run lasts between 2 to 3 months, although sometimes it could be longer. The quality of trout fishing could be on the peak, since most of the trout are taking dry flies, it is the dry fly season. A very important consideration is that best weather conditions of all the year is in this period.

At the end of the season, extending through the middle of March until first Sunday of May, the important event is the return of Chinook salmon, and migratory trout. This period is when the these big trout are running up stream to get the gravel tributaries. It is not rare to catch Brown and Rainbow trouts between 4 to 8 Lbs, although not few of our clients caught 10 lbs or bigger trout. These last weeks of the season is when fishing is the biggest challenge for the fly fishermen.
