The Aggressor runs both open party (open to the general public trips) and charter private fishing trips throughout the year. All open to the general public trips are limited load, which means that only 15 anglers will be taken on overnight or longer trips and 20 persons on day trips even though the ship can fish 48 persons. Limited load trips have many advantages over standard southern California fishing trips including incredible amounts of room to fish and to fight fish, less competition for choosing the best baits, more assistance from crew members and captain, and a more relaxed and personable fishing trip overall.
Areas fished on longer trips include Catalina Island, San Clemente Island, Offshore banks such as the Cortez bank or Tanner banks, and offshore waters. Catalina & San Clemente Islands big game fish are yellowtail and white sea bass reaching weights exceeding 50 pounds. Off shore banks and offshore waters hold big game fish including tuna, yellowtail, and other pelagic species. Reef fish including giant sheepshead and red snapper also inhabit offshore reefs and islands.
The Aggressor is captained by Brian Oldmen a 15 year veteran that has been working in the southern California sportfishing industry since he was 16. Capt Brian also runs commercial squid light boats and has extensive contacts with all the major bait suppliers which means he gets the best bait available always, a huge asset.
The Aggressor is known for overnight and longer trips catching large gamefish such as yellowtail, white sea bass, yellowfin tuna, bluefin tuna, and a dozen other species, but the Aggressor is also great for day trips including ½ day private charters. Shark fishing trips are also available. Captain Brian has one of the best crews going with Mike Shintani, Brian Dunham, and Philip Ebert.
Captain Brian and his crew will put you on gamefish and are a great group to have a really good time with.
