For 6 Pac or small groups of 1 to 6 persons Bongos offers ½ day, full day, overnight, multiple day, marlin trips, and shark trips. Bongos are known for big game fishing and specialize in Marlin and Shark fishing. Marlin arrive in Southern California in July and remain until late October. Striped marlin specimen’s average from 150 to 200 pounds and are caught by trolling or live bait sight fishing. Other species including tuna, dorado, and yellowtail are also encountered while targeting marlin. Shark fishing is a year round big game fishery with Mako sharks to 800 pounds or more possible during the late spring, summer, and fall months and giant thresher sharks in the winter and spring months (averaging 200-300 pounds with much larger weights possible).
 
Captain Joe Bongo is owner operator and is a 25 year veteran and knows both the islands and coastal regions extensively. Bongos 6 Pac options offer a smaller group feel and can fish in areas where larger sportfishing vessels can not. Speed is another big advantage and fishing grounds 70 miles or more can be fished on a standard day trip. Regardless of the trip you choose make sure to bring your camera as trophy sized fish are the norm.
