Northern California Dude Ranch Vacation Trinity Lake and Trinity Alps Wilderness Fishing
Coffee Creek Ranch comprises 367 acres surrounded by national forest and the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area in Northern California and borders Coffee Creek, an excellent trout-fishing stream for natives. Stockers can be found in the Trinity River, East Fork or in the Coffee Creek Pond. The ranch is located 72 miles northwest of Redding, eight miles above Trinity Lake.
Northern California Horseback Riding Coffee Creek has every imaginable dude ranch amenity, including the ever-popular horseback riding. The ranch breeds its own AQHA and Paints. Typically, two rides a day are scheduled, and rides are divided by ability level. Private lessons can also be scheduled. Breakfast rides are the most popular, while the all-day "wilderness" ride to a lake is the most scenic and spectacular! For a unique riding experience, the all-day ride can be extended into an overnight pack trip returning the next day.
Dude Ranch Activities When guests aren't out exploring the mountain trails of the Trinity Alps, there's plenty to keep them busy back at the ranch. They can swim in the heated pool, soak in the waterfall health spa under the stars, or work out in the exercise room.
They can also try their hand at badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, table tennis, shuffleboard, kayaking, canoeing, or basketball. Guests can also test their skills at the rifle and archery range. Hiking trips can be planned, and mountain bike trails parallel the Wilderness Area. In addition, supervised summer youth programs specially designed by age group are available. The rest of the week is sprinkled with bingo, square and line dancing and a talent show.
Gold panning and the ranch's band, the "Rattlesnakes", will entertain you year-round and keep you coming back for MORE! You can be sure that you'll find just what you're looking for at Coffee Creek Ranch.

Wilderness Pack Trips
Come explore "God's Country" for yourself, and discover another country! The Trinity Alps Wilderness Area is over 517,000 acres of old growth forest, granite peaks and 130 lakes, named for the miners, ranchers, and wildlife that frequented each area in earlier times. Find out why the Swiss miner named these majestic peaks after his beloved Alps of Switzerland. They even have a Matterhorn!
The trailheads that we pack from on a regular basis are Union Lake (union and Foster Lake), North Fork (Long Gulch & Trail Gulch Lakes) and South Fork of Coffee Creek (Doe & Granite Lake), Big Flat Campground (Caribous), Swift Lake, Long Canyon, Sugar Pine, and Boulder Creek (Lion & Conway). With the exception of Caribous and Union, the lakes mentioned above have little use and are very quiet and secluded. We will take you most places as long as it is safe for our animals.
