Yuba River Fly Fishing

Drift Boat California Fishing Guide Fly Fishing Trips

Steelhead and Wild Trout
We specialize in Yuba River fly fishing trips for wild trout and steelhead.  The portion we fish is open 365 days a year and the fishing is good all year round. The Yuba is catch and release only with no bait. This allows the fish to grow to a large size, with the average trout between 14 and 17 inches long. These trout fight like no other - we break off at least one fish on most of our trips. We also guide on the American and Feather rivers when the bite is hot.

Yuba River Fly Fishing Guide

Cary Jellison is a complete outdoorsman, having prowled the waters and outdoor terrain of Nevada and northern California since he was a child. After years of fly fishing, hunting, camping, rafting, and hiking, Jellison started his own Yuba River fly fishing guide service, G & J Outdoor Enterprises, in 1995. With a desire to introduce young people to the outdoors and a willingness to tailor trips to meet a client's individual needs, Jellison has quickly built a reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable guide.

Cary offers clients an intimate knowledge of Northern California fly fishing for trout and steelhead waters on the American, Feather, and Yuba rivers. With a staunch commitment to the conservation of America's cold water fisheries, the Trout Unlimited member and Hyde drift boat pro-staff member offers anglers a chance to sample some of Northern California's finest fly fishing action.

With over 25 years experience in fishing and hunting, our goal remains consistent in that we want to give you an enjoyable and successful outdoor experience!
