Captain Smitty  The "Riptide" is owned and operated by Capt. William Smith. "Capt. Smitty" has worked on party boats in the Bay Area for over twenty years, has been a licensed captain for fifteen years, and has been involved in Half Moon Bay fishing for the past twelve years.
Capt. Smitty's Riptide Sportfishing specializes in providing personalized attention to individuals and small groups.His enthusiasm for fishing makes your trip memorable. The F/V Riptide is a 40? fiberglass hull, equipped with turbo diesel, state-of-the art electronics, and is licensed and inspected by the United States Coast Guard. Riptide is located on "H" dock at Pillar Pt. Harbor in El Granada (near Half Moon Bay), California. Professional affiliations: Member in good standing with the Golden Gate Fishermen's Association, Masters Mates & Pilots, Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce, Diver's Alert Network, and Drug Testing Consultants Inc. Private Charters Available
For charters a 50% deposit is required to hold reservation
Check in time is 5:00 am AT Half Moon Bay Sportfishing and Tackle(ALWAYS VERIFY YOUR TIME) Rod Rental Tackle and license ( Available on board the boat)
Rod rental is $10 per person
Basic tackle kit is $10 - $15 per person
One Day License is $14.00 per person Fish cleaning
Rockfish and tuna can be cleaned for you for a nominal charge. Half Moon Bay Whale Watching

Private Charters for Whale Watching/Nature Trips Available
Individuals and small groups must total a minimum of 8 passengers to run a trip Whale Watching All day trips are:
$75 per person Weekdays

RIPTIDE SPORTFISHING is licensed by the State of California to scatter ashes at sea. We provide this service for those who wish to have a loved one's ashes scattered on the ocean. We can carry up to 20 passengers. Arrangements can be made for clergy, flowers or other wishes of the family. Call for pricing. Ashes Scattering.
Riptide Sportfishing reserves the right to cancel or change trips.
Trips may be canceled due to insufficient sign ups. Deposit returns will be made by check and mailed. Cancellation of reservations requires 72 hours for groups of 4 or less. For groups of 5 or more 10 days. For groups of 5 or more a 50% deposit is required. Balance is due on date of trip.
Cancellations require verbal confirmation and cancellation id # Children must be at least 7 years of age and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
