The Trip

San Francisco SportfishingEmeryville Sportfishing wants to make sure you have the most enjoyable fishing adventure possible. In order to make that goal a reality we are providing you with some suggestions for making your trip as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

What To Bring

A good rule of thumb when preparing for you fishing adventure is prepare for the worst weather and be surprised by better weather. Dressing in layers is the key to a comfortable trip and making sure you have rain gear just in case will be a lot better than wearing a plastic garbage bag to stay dry. Rubber boots are always nice to have and will keep your feet warm and dry. However, any good non-slip sole tennis shoes or boots will work fine but you may end up with damp feet by the end of the trip. You will want to make sure you have food and liquids to keep you energized and refreshed throughout the day. We have food and drinks available for sale in the tackle shop along with ice to fill your cooler of fish for the ride home. If you bring your own rods and tackle make sure you check to make sure you have the correct equipment for the job. We also have rods and tackle available in the tackle shop should you need them for your trip. If you or members of your party get seasick or are unsure it might be a good idea to visit your doctor or local pharmacy for some Dramamine, patch or other motion sickness preventative. Sunglasses and sun block are two other items that you should bring that will make your trip and the following days much more enjoyable. Make sure you utilize the Trip Checklist below to make sure you have everything covered.

The Charter

San Francisco Fishing CharterUnless otherwise specified you should expect on arriving at Emeryville Sportfishing at 5:30 AM to begin your fishing adventure and anticipate returning in the late afternoon. Where you will be fishing from on the charter is determined by when you arrive and get situated. Essentially, the early you get onboard, the better selection of fishing positions you will have to choose from. If you are bringing several people and want to fish together you should make sure you get onboard early. Throughout the day you will be fishing and you should remember that this is supposed to be a fun experience. During the day there's always the chance your line will become tangled with other fisherman and that's just fishing. Wait for the deckhand to untangle you and keep on fishing and having fun! If you need any help or have any questions you should never hesitate to ask the captain or deckhands.

Good luck and happy fishing!
